"Dawnfire!" A stern voice yelled. Dawnfire looked up from the mouse she had been eating to see Flowerstar. Dawnfire swallowed the last piece of her prey nervously and stood up.
"Yes?" She asked, voice shaking slightly. It had been three sunrises since Dawnfire confronted Flowerstar and been harshly turned away.
"We're going to MoonClan territory." The pale leader said. "I want to talk to Shadowstar about forming a barrier around the river."
"And you want me to go?" Dawnfire questioned.
"I said you, now hurry up." The leader snapped, Dawnfire quickly padded over to her and stood beside the leader. As she did, Redclaw and Brackenpaw padded up as well, followed by Thornpelt.
"This is the patrol?" Thornpelt asked, eyes resting on Dawnfire. Her body tensed and she avoided his gaze.
"Yes." Flowerstar said, her voice more stern than usual. Dawnfire must've really upset her, Flowerstar was never this stiff. "Now let's go."
The patrol left the camp, Dawnfire padded alongside Brackenpaw who seemed very happy to be going to MoonClan camp. He would be a warrior soon, he was almost bigger than Dawnfire. They crossed SunClan territory with ease, the entire time Dawnfire felt Thornpelt's eyes on her back the entire time. When they reached the river it was even higher than when she first patrolled.
"We can cross over here." Flowerstar padded along the bank until they came to a small log that cross over the river. "Once we get across we will wait for a patrol." Flowerstar crossed the log with ease and turned to face her patrol. "Now you, Brackenpaw."
The ginger apprentice rushed up to the log, hesitating slightly before he placed his paws on the wood. Brackenpaw crossed easily and sat beside his leader.
"You go next, Dawnfire." Thornpelt's voice was as cold as ice. For a moment Dawnfire hesitated, last time she crossed this river with Thornpelt she nearly fell in.
"Don't be scared, Dawnfire." Brackenpaw mewed. "It's not hard at all!" Dawnfire's paws twitched as she placed them on the log. It wasn't slipping she was scared of. Thornpelt wouldn't risk his own way across right? Dawnfire was relieved when her paws touched the grass on the other side of the river. She stood beside Brackenpaw as Thornpelt crossed.
"Now we wait." Flowerstar mewed after Thornpelt sat down, it wasn't long before a MoonClan patrol showed up. Dawnfire recognized Tawnytail, Smudgenose, Frostfire, Mosspaw and Swiftheart.
"Flowerstar." Tawnytail mewed, slightly on edge. "What are you and your cats doing in MoonClan territory?"
"I wanted to speak to Shadowstar about something," Flowerstar dipped her head to the MoonClan deputy. "I promise you we bring no harm."
Tawnytail hesitated slightly, and Smudgenose looked as if he was going to attack but Tawnytail gave a slight nod. "Very well, we will take you to camp."
"Thank you, Tawnytail." Flowerstar purred and the SunClan patrol joined with MoonClan. Swiftheart fell in beside Dawnfire.
"So what's this about?" He asked. "Is everything alright in SunClan?" He questioned, slightly concerned.
"Of course." Dawnfire replied, very aware of Thornpelt behind her. "Flowerstar just wants to talk to Shadowstar."
The MoonClan camp was a large empty moor surrounded by the same white trees in the Spirit Woods, only these ones didn't seem to glow. There was a small holly bush with no cats near it, beside it was a larger bush that Dawnfire assumed was the warriors den since Bonefur and Icepool were talking outside of it. They stopped when they spotted the SunClan patrol, Bonefur gave them a suspicious look.
