Dawnstar's Trouble {COMPLETE}

Chapter 35

 SunClan faced the border, Flowerstar at the head of her warriors and Thornstar at the head of his. With the amount of cats Dawnfire saw, she knew that he had chosen to fight for the kits. Thornstar's tail twitched slightly with anticipation.

"So this is your answer," Flowerstar closed her eyes with a small sigh. "Very well, Thornstar." Flowerstar extended her claws. "SunClan! Attack!" The battle started in the blink of an eye, yowling filled the noon air and the two Clans collided. Dawnfire was pinned down in an instant by Cloverstrike, she felt claws digging into her shoulders. Dawnfire battered at the she-cat's belly and twisted away from her grip. Cloverstrike lashed her forepaw out, her claws nearly slicing her nose. Dawnfire stumbled backwards, her hind paws tripping over a branch. Dawnfire fell hard on her back and Cloverstrike used the opportunity to attack.

Dawnfire rolled away, scolding herself for a moment for her mistake then turning back to her fight. Dawnfire's claws met Cloverstrike's side and she tore through brown fur, blood welled from the marks in her side. Cloverstrike let out a hiss of pain and slashed her claws across Dawnfire's cheek. Dawnfire hissed and shoved Cloverstrike away, quickly following up but leaping on her and pinning the AshClan she-cat down.

Dawnfire had Cloverstrike pinned until she felt a force grab her and throw her off, Dawnfire bumped her head on a rock, she quickly stood up and saw Nightstorm had come to her aid. Dawnfire braced herself for the attack of both she-cats. Nightstorm came from one side and Cloverstrike the other, Dawnfire tried to pull away from them but was dropped to the ground with claws digging into her flank. Dawnfire hissed and managed to get a good attack on Nightstorm's leg, but Cloverstrike was quick to hit back. Dawnfire spat at the brown she-cat and rolled away, trying to avoid Nightstorm's claws. There was a flash of gray and Nightstorm was thrown to the ground with Cinderflame standing over her, pelt bristling and claws digging into Nightstorm's shoulder.

Cloverstrike went after her but Dawnfire met her halfway, pulling the AshClan warrior to the ground, clawing her flank as she did so. Cloverstrike threw Dawnfire off, causing her to stumble into Cinderflame who batted away at Nightstorm. The two AshClan she-cats kept attacking, tearing their claws into Dawnfire and Cinderflame's pelts, but the SunClan she-cats fought back just as hard. Dawnfire batted at Cloverstrike's paws, causing her stumble and hit the ground. Cinderflame jumped onto her, raking claws down her spine. Nightstorm violently shoved Cinderflame off into Dawnfire, the two she-cats stumbled and Nightstorm dragged Cloverstrike away. Dawnfire looked at Cinderflame and nodded thankfully, the gray she-cat was quickly back into the battle.

Dawnfire took a moment to breath and inspect her wounds, her fur was stained red but no wounds were too deep, just stinging but the racing adrenaline through her body was enough to keep it from being unbearable. Dawnfire also took this moment to asses the battle, Adderstrike and Icepetal fought side by side against Mudthorn and Graypelt, Icepetal's white fur had patches of scarlet, and a claw mark across her side. Snowtail wrestled with Leafwind and not far away from them, Sandfoot was in an intense battle with Featherfall. Dawnfire looked for any cats that might be in trouble and found Cloudspots fighting against Echoheart, one eyes was closed shut with blood and he had claw marks across his flank.

Anger sparked inside Dawnfire and she made it to Echoheart in a few bounds, she dug her claws deep into Echoheart's lower back and pulled her back away from the apprentice, the AshClan deputy spun around and slashed Dawnfire's cheek. Murder flashed in her eyes and Dawnfire soon found herself pinned, she struggled under Echoheart's grip, but before she could kill Dawnfire she let out a hiss of pain and anger. Cloudspots had given Echoheart a nasty scratch down her spine, the gray she-cat leapt off Dawnfire and onto Cloudspots, digging her teeth into his scruff and throwing him hard against a tree, Cloudspots hit the ground and did not move.
