"It's time to go, SunClan." Dawnstar announced. "We're going to MoonClan territory first so our elders and kits can stay there. Then we will meet up with Jaggedstar and the rest of LichenClan then head to the Gathering Hollow." Dawnstar relayed the plan. "If there's anything to remember from our training is make sure you don't die, Thornstar and his warriors will be fighting to kill." The cats of SunClan nodded, Dawnstar did one last check to make sure that every SunClan warrior was accounted for. Hawktalon stood with Squirreltail and Nightwing, Earthpaw, Mudpaw and Pebblestep had had mouthfuls of herbs, every herb that SunClan had in stock.
"Then it's time to leave." Dawnstar announced and began guiding her Clan out of the camp; if any warriors decided to attack SunClan camp they would find it abandoned; not a single warrior would remain. SunClan pushed through their territory to the MoonClan border, they had set up an easy way to cross. It was still early in the day, just past dawn. They had to be there before sunhigh. Dawnstar crossed easily, she remembered crossing this river the first time she had gone to the Moonstone, the first time that Thornstar had tried to kill her by making her fall into the river to drown. She was recalling a lot about her life before now.
First becoming an apprentice, collecting moss and exploring the territory, everything would've been better if Sunstream never died. Then Dawnstar figured that if she had never been Thornstar's apprentice, she may never have learned of his treachery and it would SunClan he would be leading into darkness. Dawnstar sighed, everything that had happened in her life had happened for a reason; even Willowkit's death. Everything had led up to this moment, to her destiny. The prophecy rang in her ears, When the forest is in danger, a new dawn will blaze brighter than the sun. The forest was in danger; was it Dawnstar's time to blaze brighter than the sun? Dawnstar dug her claws into the soil, this was her destiny. To lead SunClan and the other Clans to victory.
The SunClan warriors soon reached MoonClan's camp, she had never been here before. It was a clearing and most of the dens seemed to be burrows with the exception of the leader's den and medicine cat den.
"Welcome, SunClan." Shadowstar dipped his head respectfully when he spotted the other Clan. "I've spoken with Jaggedstar and him and his Clan will be meeting us just before the Gathering Hollow." He explained.
"Sounds like a plan." Dawnstar looked around. "Where exactly will my kits be staying?" Dawnstar questioned, Honeykit and Falconkit were being carried by their father and uncle at the moment, talking in awe about being in another Clan's territory.
Shadowstar motioned towards a den between two trees. "Your kits along with Nightkit, Seedkit and Onekit will all be staying in my den along with the elders and that cats who cannot fight. It's a large den and it will be protected."
"I wanna meet the other kits!" Falconkit forced himself from Lionclaw's jaws but his father quickly caught him.
"You will be meeting them; but Ebonywing's kits are only a few days old." Shadowstar explained kindly. "You will be staying in a den with him and some other cats." Falconkit snorted.
"MoonClan smells weird." He complained.
"Show some respect." Dawnstar scolded her son over her shoulder. "They're allowing you to stay here so you're safe."
"I'd be safer if I could fight." Falconkit stuck his nose in the air.
"We're too young to fight." Honeykit mewed as Turtleblaze set her down.
"But I wanna help!" Falconkit complained.
"You will be helping, little one." Shadowstar purred. "You will be in charge of protecting the younger kits. Don't let anything hurt them, alright?" Falconkit's expression instantly changed. He puffed out his tiny chest and lifted his head.
