Hiding from his fears and regrets, Ronald was running for his dear life from a certain person whom he accidentally messed with. Crap! Why is this school so confusing!? As he searched through the hallways looking for his advisory classroom, Ronald was starting to get lost that he entered the Seniors hallway. Fortunately, the Pep Rally was in session, giving Ronald an opportunity to run in the hallways as fast as he could with no one monitoring the corridors. The hallways were dark yet somewhat narrow. Every time he passed by a drinking fountain he felt as if he's been running in circles. With curiosity he decided to have a short glance behind him; he wanted to see if the 'predator' was gone.
"Ronnie don't turn around!", Violet warned him, "He's still chasing you. I can still hear his footsteps."
Ronald jumped by Violet's statement, running twice as fast trying to swerve through different pathways. He decided to ask Violet for more guidance.
<Well then what can I do. I'm lost. There's nowhere to hide.>, Ronald gestured while he's running short of breath.
"Hm. Ah, look you see that!", Violet exclaimed as she pointed towards what seemed to be a library that appeared to not have been open for decades.
Ronald and Violet approached the doors of the library and stopped as Ronald tried to catch his breath. When he regained his strength, Ronald stared at the doors. Geeze. This door is different compared to the other doors in the school. I mean like where's the button to open it. Before he tried to do anything, Ronald paused thinking how him hiding in there would do him any good.
<In there. But he will trap me in there. It's no use. Can I just give up or something>, Ronald gestured spastically, <Besides. I deserve to get pummeled. Everyone in this stupid school hates me all because of that stupid thing with that stupid->
"Ronnie, it's not your fault", Violet interrupted, "Now please, I know he won't find you here. I just don't want to see you get hurt again."
Ronald hated to hear the morose tone Violet tend to give when she worry about him. Quickly recollecting from what he was running from, Ronald tried to open the door. What is this mechanism!? I can't even open the door... wait what's this? A knob was spotted, which he never saw before. He, then, placed his palm on it and twisted it thus opening the door. Huh weird... As he entered the corridor, the young boy closed the door behind him. Inside the dark room were mountains of books, bookshelves that seem to lose its strength in carrying all of those reading materials, and a desk that has the map of the library hanging on the side of the desk. Before Ronald can think about this archaic location, Violet yelled.
"Ronnie duck and hide!", Violet screamed as she vanished into the shadows. Ronald did as he was told and hid.
"Where are you you punk!?", a voice was heard behind the walls along with the sounds of footsteps approaching the entrance of the library.
"*pant* *pant* Parker..... wait.... I think we lost him", a second person was heard approaching the kid known as Parker -with a slightly British accent.
"You idiot! This is your fault!", Parker exclaimed with great anger.
"Why you're blaming me!?", the second person yelled, "It's not my fault that my bloody lungs are weak you bastard!"
Parker moaned stating, "And yet you're still alive... Damien... argh... You have freaking weak immune system."
"Look I got this", Damien exclaimed, "Ronald could be anywhere, right. Well, there's obviously a possibility he could be in this room."
"What makes you say that", Parker asked.
"What do you mean 'what makes you say that'!? Can you not analyze the specific details shown in our surroundings. Plus let's not make this ironic, but I know for sure the American is in there, since, the knob looks as if it was touched approximately a minute or two ago, thus showing evidently that there's a 90% chance that he's in there. The 10% is him tricking us, but he's not that smart", Damien explained proudly, "I mean it's base on the bloody context! It is like 'The Case of the Simpletons', which I have to say is child's play since the criminals in that series are stupid."
"You know Damien", Parker sighed, "Sometimes I wonder if Amy is the normal twin."
"What's that suppose to mean", Damien demanded in an annoyed tone, "You know for damn sure I'm the normal twin."
"Just open the stupid door."
While the knob was jerked by the palm of Damien's hand, Ronald remained hidden praying that they won't find him. His heart began to pound rapidly as he started to hold his breath for no apparent reason. Violet where the hedgehog you went!? Ronald pondered as he closed his eyes, however, when he heard footsteps marching towards the library, Ronald's mood turned up as he began to hear the sweet scolds the principal has to offer when she questioned Damien and Parker's presence at the corridors.
"Excuse me. Aren't you boys suppose to be in the Pep Rally", the principal asked with a stern tone.
"Oh! Mrs. McClain!", the Brit reacted, "We were just... uh... we were here looking... actually we were going to... we were supposed to... door... I... um... we have to..."
"We were looking for Ronald Smith since we haven't seen him at the Pep Rally", Parker interrupted and sighed, sounding a bit irritated by Damien's traumatic behavior.
"Do you two expect me to believe you two yahoos", Principal McClain exclaimed, "And you Damien I expected more from you."
"I know", Damien sighed, "It won't happen again."
"Now you two are coming with me. I'm going have to hold you boys in during lunch break as punishment for not participating in this special event", Principal McClain stated as the lunch bell rang right on schedule.
Finally, they're gone. Ronald thought in relief as he sat up to lean against the wall. I can't wait to go home, watch anime, read comics, and whatever that seems appealing to me. Ronald, then, got up to leave the library, however, before he was about to open the door he heard the principal still talking. He decided to wait and began to eavesdrop.
"Now you two stay there in the counselors' room. Ms. Kimmel, make sure they do not talk to each other once lunch break is over", the principal explained and after she left she whispered to herself, "At least they're not worse than that mute."
"At least they're not worse than that mute." Wait, what....
This statement suddenly echoed through Ronald's mind as if he was struck on the chest by a knife.
"At least they're not worse than that mute."
Ronald slowly sat on the ground and leaned against the door which he locked.
"At least they're not worse than that mute."
He looked up and then gazed at the palm of his hands.
"At least they're not worse than that mute"... What's that suppose to mean..?
Ronald thought out loud.
What did I do now!? Do they really still see me as a criminal!? I didn't mean to do it! Maxime made me!?
Before Ronald continued to contemplate, tears streamed down his face.
Why me!? Why me!? I didn't ask for this....
His glasses began to fog up.
I hate this... I want to go home... I don't belong here...
Ronald lay on the ground sideways and hugged his knees.
I want to go back to my mom... I don't want to be with my dad.... I want to go back to Toronto... I don't want to be here... I miss my mama.....
He grabbed his glasses and threw them across the floor.
Everyone hates me... I know they do.... If they don't then why they glare at me... why am I the one to be bullied...
He tried to hold the tears as the anxiety courses through his body.
Violet where are you... Violet.....I.... I don't even know if you are real...
Ronald closed his eyes.
I don't belong here.....
Ronald breathed heavily.
I hate my life.....
Ronald covered his face and sighed hoping everything will be over soon until he realized he wasn't alone.
