Hey! Thank you so much for reading this, I hope you like it:)

I threw my money at the taxi driver and basically ran out of the cab. The warm April wind blew against my face as I pushed though the giant mob of people in down town New York. I quickly glance at my phone. "20 minutes late" I mumble to myself while I continue to push my way through the crowd.

I finally found the small coffee shop and walked inside trying not to be noticed. As soon as I step through the door the fresh smell of coffee, that I absolutely adore, hits me. I quickly take my jacket off and hang it up on the hanger in the corner of the room. I grabbed my note pad out of my bag and turn around.

"Well well glad to see you showed up for work today" said my boss Max as he magically appeared next to me.

"Max I'm really sorry I tried to get here on time but do you know how hard it is to catch a cab at 3:00pm in New York" I try to explain to my boss "just please don't fire me, give me one more chance..."

"Kate, calm down I get it, but this is the 3rd time this week that you have been late" Max said as he put his hand on my shoulder and instructed me to one of the tables.

"I know. I am working on getting here on time I truly am and if you want I can work late tonight or tomorrow before classes start..." I practically begged.

We stare at each other for a few seconds until Max finally lets out a sigh "Go get to work, but Kate I can't let this happen again, next time your late, that's it, ok?"

"Yes, oh my god thank you!" I squeak as we both stand up.

"...and it is packed today and we need as much help as we can get, so go" Max points to the crowded room and I quickly scatter through it.

I hop behind the counter and start to help Audrey with the orders.

"So you finally decided to show up huh?" Audrey asked, a hint of sarcasm lacing her voice .

"Not now..." I reply as I elbow her making her giggle.

"Ill have a hot mocha latte" said the woman across from me as I jotted the order down and turned to go make it.

"And miss! Ill have a double decaf espresso!" Yelled a man behind the woman.

"Ok be right up" I say writing down the coffee as I quickly scoot away.

As soon as I got the coffees made, I brought them out and gave them to the man and woman across from me.
