Chapter 8

~Niall's P.O.V~

I sat on my couch for what feels like forever waiting for 5:00 to roll around. Drumming my fingers on the coffee table I grabbed my phone and checked the time. 4:37.

"Oh my god could time go by any slower" I groaned as I throw my phone on the table and walked to my bedroom. I ran my hand through my hair and sat down on my bed playing the worst case scenarios in my head.

What if she forgets? what if she bails? I don't even know her name or her phone number, there's a 50% chance I accidentally broke her phone today. ugh. What if the movie gets sold out before we get there? Why the hell am I so fucking nervous....

I get off the bed and walked into the living room again. I grabbed my phone and lit it up. 4:42. Ok well I could leave now. Who knows, there could be a lot of traffic tonight. And with that I grabbed my phone, slid it in my pocket with my wallet and keys and walked towards the door grabbing my leather jacket on the way. I jumped in my car and headed off to NYU.

Soon after leaving, I pull up into the NYU entrance and look at my phone. 4:53. I shove it back into my pocket and turn up the radio starring at the school's entrance. A few minutes pass until I see the doors crack open and someone walk out. My eyes are quickly glued to the person when I realize it's the girl. She was wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a grey long sleeve shirt with a purple scarf around her neck. She finally spotted my car and walked up and got in.

~Kate's P.O.V~

I quickly spot the small car and walk up to it. I scoot my self inside and look at the mystery guy who was smiling back at me.

"Are you ready?" he asked as he started the car.

"Ya" I reply feeling the heat return to my face. A few minutes go by in silence until I finally said something.

"So, what movie are we going to see?" I asked starring at the blonde next to me.

"It's a surprise" he chuckled.

"No! oh my god I hate surprises! You should tell me" I laugh as I nudge his shoulder.

"Nope" he said as he stared at the road.

"Yes! tell me please!" I beg.

"Nope, sorry" he chuckled as we turned a corner heading toward the movie theater.

Once we reached the movie theater the guy quickly got out of the car and helped me out of my side.

"Thank you" I say as he closes the door behind me. We walk into the lobby of the theater which was surprisingly packed with people. The smell of popcorn that I had always loved as a kid hit me as we walk in. He walked up to the lady at the ticket both and motioned me to stay back. I watched him as he leaned into the desk then I looked around at the crowd around us. I look back at my mystery guy as he walked back towards me his hands in his pockets.

"Do you have the tickets?" I ask him.

"Um, about that..." he said as he rubbed the back of his neck "apparently the movie is sold out..."

"oh, well that's ok I guess we can go see another movie" I suggested as I looked back up at his face.

"No, well I have another idea, you can call it my plan B I guess" He said as a small smile crept onto his face.

"What are you planning?" I curiously ask as I follow him out of the movie theater lobby and out to his car.

"You'll see" he said as he flashed me a smile and opened my door.

"Hey stop that!" I laugh as I hit his arm "I have already told you that I hate surprises".

He joined me in the car and started laughing himself. I stared at his face for what felt like the longest time until I realized that I was starring the poor guy then turned and looked out the window. I hadn't realized how long we had been in the car because instead of seeing tall buildings and cars racing past us, all I saw were fields and houses passing by every few minutes.

"Wow where are we?" I ask still taking in the scene out side.

"It's a little town out side of New York City" he said as he turned a corner onto a dirt road that lead into one of the larger fields.

"Ok close your eyes" he chuckled as the car slowly stopped. I did what I was told covering my hands with my eyes as a small giggle escaped my lips.

I slipped one of my hands off my eyes but he automatically noticed.

"Hey! I said close your eyes!" he said as I covered my eyes once more and hear the car door shut.

What is he doing?

Suddenly I hear my car door open and his hand on my knee.

"Ok now take my hand" he said as I slowly took one hand off of my eye and took his hand "but keep your eyes shut!"

"Really?!" I laughed as I shut my eyes closed and got out of the car his hand in mine.

"Ok now sit down...." he slowly said.

I did what I was told letting out a small laugh in the process. I sit down on what I think is his car hood and he takes his hand out of mine.

"Ok, now open"
