Chapter 13

~Niall's P.O.V~

I sat there in my car still in the park spot outside of Starbucks. Cars zoomed by me but I had no ambition to go anywhere especially to my apartment. I reached over and turned a knob filling my car with the radio.

I know I shouldn't be bothered by this but I couldn't get over the thought that Kate rejected me out of my head. I know I'm not dating her and we only went on one date but it just doesn't feel right. The worst case scenario she is going on a date with another guy tonight. Wait what am I saying she isn't mine I don't have control over who she sees and who she doesn't. But deep down I want her to be mine, yes we have only one date but there is something there I know it. Shit, calm down Niall.

I rubbed my hands over my face then heard my phone beep. I reached down and saw that it was Liam.

From: Liam

Hey, wanna hang out tonight? Liv isn't here don't worry

To: Liam

Sure, why would I care if Liv was there?

From: Liam

Idk, the last time we were together she kept pressuring you about the 'mystery girl' thing

To: Liam

Oh ya it's ok, her names Kate:)

From: Liam

You got her name? Good job Niall! Did she spill coffee on you again? Haha

To: Liam

Shut up Liam, and no I actually took her on a date

From: Liam

OH! Well then, if you are coming do you mind picking something up on the way here? like some Taco Bell? PWEEZE

To: Liam

Fine, haha be there soon

I threw my phone into the passenger seat and pulled into the street. A few minutes later I pulled into the parking lot of Taco Bell and walked in. It wasn't packed but there were a few people here and there sitting at the tables. I walked up and took my place in line. Thank god it wasn't busy because a few minutes later I ordered and looked down at my phone. 5:30 read across the lock screen.

I looked back up and around the room. The cashier brought out my order in a white Taco Bell bag and I heard someone laugh. Not any laugh though, I knew that laugh way too well. It couldn't be, It can't be. I nervously looked at the table area trying to see where it came from. Over in the corner of the room sat a girl with blonde hair and brown eyes sitting across from some guy with dirty blonde hair.

"Shit." I mumbled under my breath.

This can't be happening. She had a boyfriend this whole time? How could I be so stupid. She then looked up in my direction. I, realizing that I just said that out loud, quickly ducked my head and walked out of the fast food resturant before she had a second to recognize who I was. I walked to my car and got in slamming the car door behind me.

~Kate's P.O.V~

"Yah it was hilarious, a group of kids got together and pulled a giant April fools joke on Principal Johnson, which ended up with her covered in blue paint" Connor said as he took a bite of his taco.

"No way! Some of the kids at my old high school did that in senior year, but it was black and all over our principals car" I laughed. As much as I didn't want to say it I was having so much fun with Connor. After he picked me up he had the greatest idea to come get tacos before studying because 'you can't study well on an empty stomach'.

"Shit" I heard someone from mumble from across the room. I looked over but saw a guy in a grey sweatshirt quickly leaving. Who was that?

"Is everything ok Kate?'' Connor asked putting his hand on my arm.

"Um yeah sorry" I said as I shook my head and took a sip of my water

~Niall's P.O.V~

I pulled up into Liam's driveway still pissed off about what just happened at Taco Bell. Grabbing the white paper bag I got out of my car and walked up his apartment opening the door.

"I'm here" I yelled as I walked into the apartment.

"Taco's!!!" Liam yelled as he ran into the kitchen.

"Well hello to you too" I said as I threw the bag on the table.

"Geeesh I'm sorry" he replied pulling out a chair and sitting at the table.

"No, it's not you" I said also sitting down and running my hand through my hair.

"Why are you so pissy then?" He said grabbing a taco out of the bag.

"Kate, I found her at Taco Bell with this other guy...." I said trailing off.

"Is he her boyfriend?" Liam asked putting the taco down. That word sent chills through my body.

"Um, probably, I asked if she wanted to hang out again tonight earlier today but she said she had other plans" I answered.

"Oh sorry man" He finally said then taking a bite if his taco.

"Ya and I am supposed to hang out with her tomorrow but I'm thinking about canceling, I mean what's the point when she has a, boyfriend" I said as Liam pushed the bag my way motioning me to take a taco but while talking about this I wasn't very hungry. I shook my head and he shrugged and continued to eat.

"Well, I mean that doesn't have to stop you..." he said looking at me.

"Liam, no, I don't do cheating" I said cutting him off "Would you cheat on poor Olivia?"

"Of course not!" he said almost choking on his food.

"You see" I said as I ran my hand through my hair again, then felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out of my pocket and saw I had gotten a text.

From: Kate:)

Hey!

The word hit me like a ton of bricks. I hated the thought that she was cheating on that poor guy with me. She didn't seem to be that type of person. I took a deep breath before answering.

To: Kate:)

Hey, I'm going to have cancel on tomorrow something came up, sorry

I pressed the send button and slid my phone back into my pocket.

"Who was that?" Liam asked his mouth full of taco.

"Kate" I quietly said looking over at Liam who was shoving his face with tacos.

"Do you want a beer?" He said as he stood up and walked to the fridge.

"Please" and with that I knew it was going to be a long night.

Hi!!!! I just wanted to tell you guys that I might not be able to update Monday. I have a dance competition this weekend so I don't think I will have much time to write. I will try but can't promise an update Monday. Anyways 77 reads! OMG!!!! I hope you guys like it so far, and it is just starting to get to the good parts hehe😏
