Chapter 3

Shay's P.O.V.

I walk into the Starbucks just as the rain started to pour. I wiped off my boots and walked up to the cashier. not gonna lie he was pretty hot. "hey may I help you?" he said smiling with dimples. I nodded. "uhm yea I want a large pumpkin spice." he nodded. "and the name." "shay." I said smiling. "ok that will be 3.36." I handed him the money and took a seat.

Just as I sat down so guys I went to high school with came in. the old football captain luke saw me and smiled. "well long time no see miss shay." I just rolled my eyes and got up. when I did he smacked my butt. I turned around and he was smirking. I just turned back around and grabbed my coffee. I looked down at my stomach thankfully I wasn't showing yet. I wasn't paying attention and ran into somebody. I felt the scorching hot drink on my skin. I looked ahead of me and saw a girl about my age with strawberry blond hair with an iPhone in her hand. "oh my lord I'm so sorry." I said quickly with wide eyes. "it's fine." she whispered. "I'm shay." "holly or hols for short." she manged to get out. I smiled and gave her my number and left.

As I was walking down the street i got a strange feeling. you know that feeling when people are watching you, yea it was that feeling. I turned around and saw luke and his buddies coming towards me. I started running I was a track player so it was easy. but they were running backs, they easily caught me. I groaned as luke grabbed me around the waist. "looks like chase isn't here to protect you this time." luke whispered in my ear. "I swear I will scream as loud as I can." I said my voice cracking. his friends just laughed. luke put his hand on my shoulder and started moving it down. I let out a aggravated sigh. I finally had enough of him so I kicked him where the sun dont shine. he doubled over and I ran. "You'll pay doll." luke screamed. I ran into a shop and watched them run by. Finally after waiting for a long ten minutes I walked out of the shop and ran home.

When I got home I was breathless. I locked the door and walked into the kitchen. I walked over to the sink and poured a glass of water. I looked out the window at our back yard. I loved our house because we had a bunch of woods. I walked into our dining room and opened the sliding door. I stalked out side to the edge of the woods. I leaned against the big oak tree. I turned my head towards the tree and saw where me and chase carved our name in a heart. I blinked rapidly to keep the tears back. I sank to the bottom of the tree. I leaned my head back on the tree. I sighed, I miss chase so much. the thought of him dating another girl tears my heart to shreds. I wanted us to be like my mom and dad. they never fought, they would always show each other compassion. they loved each other to the moon and back and never stopped. I wiped the sticky tear I never knew that was rolling down my cheek. I felt something soft life fur on my leg. I looked down and saw the same wolf from the other day. I started panicking, I slowed moved my leg but it growled. I moved my leg back and the wolf came and sat on it. I groaned great just great. the wolf turned towards me and licked my face I giggled and petted it. maybe this wolf isn't the big bad wolf after all.

Chase's P.O.V.

I miss shay so much. I wish we never left. I saw luke and those other meatheads attack her. I was about to rip their throats out when she kicked luke in the ya know and ran. I did a wolfy grin, that's my little fighter. I followed her to her house. I went to the back and stayed at the edge of the woods. You may think I'm stalking her but I'm not she's my mate. after a few minutes she came out and went to the tree we carved are names in. she looked at it and I could tell she was about to cry. all I wanted to do I wrap her up in my arms and hold her but I can't. She sat down and closed her eyes. I did the little ninja crawl and sat beside her leg barley touching her. She started freaking out and tried to leave but I growled and she sat back down. So she wouldn't leave I sat on her and she groaned. I laughed mentally and started licking her face. She laughed and started petting me. we sat together for a long time. "Babe." I heard someone yell and I growled. "it's ok puppy it's just my best friend josh." I shook out my fur and stood up and stretched. I licked her one more time and turned around and ran back into the woods.
