"Baekhyun-a, how was your day? Sorry that I didn't show up yesterday. I was busy." Taeyeon put down her purse as she pulled out her chair to sit beside him. She heaved a sigh and looked down at him, sleeping peacefully on the snowy white bed.
He didn't reply her, just like these past few months, he kept his lips sealed.
"Argh...my bones ache. I think I have a fever coming on."she said, grabbing his hand and placing it on her forehead. The warmth was instantly replaced by his cold as ice palm. "Wow your hand is so cold."she rubbed it gently to generate some warmth out of him.
She didn't expect him to reply her anyway, so she continued ranting about her day like how she dealt with the demands given by her unreasonable boss.
"Guess what, I bought you a dreamcatcher. Remember the dark shop we always pass by together and I always said that I didn't want to go in because it looks creepy? Well, I went in today and bought this."she said as she stood up to tie the pale blue dreamcatcher onto the thin pole above the bed. "Hopefully we can see each other in our dreams. Cause I really miss you."she said as she looked down at the other dreamcatcher that is in pale pink, sitting idly in her bag.
She stared at his face, silently thinking by herself. Is he ever going to wake up from this coma?
He looked so peaceful lying on the bed, he can pass on as dead by people who didn't know what happened to him.
"I bumped into your parents yesterday, and they asked me if I have been well."she said. "They were so caring and understanding."she continued and placed her hand on his arm, staring at the ring on her fourth finger. "If you wake up now, we can immediately go to the office to register for our marriage certificate."
The day she got engaged was the same day he got into a major car accident. The happenings of that day is still replaying in her mind every time she thought about him. He just proposed to her during dinner and the both of them were so happy. Taeyeon thought that nothing will ever go wrong.
But after Baekhyun dropped her off at her place, he got into a car accident with a large lorry. After hearing the news, Taeyeon remembered rushing to the hospital to see him. It was a mess. She remembered marching back and forth in worry when Baekhyun was being treated in the emergency room.
When the doctor came out, he said that he's safe, but they still don't know when he will wake up. Taeyeon was in tears. The happiest day of her life turns out like that.
Throughout these months, her colleagues noticed that the man who always come to visit Taeyeon during lunch break never came again. When they asked her why, she just lied to them, saying that he went abroad. It hurts, but the nosey people will never stop asking until they get the answer.
Sometimes she gets told off by her boss for daydreaming while she is at her job. She just can't help it, her mind is flooded with memories she didn't have time to think about whenever she is with Baekhyun. She never realized that his existence is that important to her.
She thought that he is just a partner she loves, but it is more than that. Her world almost revolves around him and she tries to tone her feelings down for him, as she never know if he will ever wake up.
Her friends already gave up on the possibility that Baekhyun will wake up from his coma, so some of them even introduce her new guys or let her go on a blind date. But Taeyeon rejected all of them. She is engaged to someone and she promised him that she will be his wife. Just because he is unconscious, it doesn't give her a reason to cheat on him.
She still loves him a lot. Her heart for him never dies when his mind decided to go into a coma.
"Taeyeon?"
She snapped her head up at the voice. Her lips curled into a smile as she stared at the owner of the voice.
