Baekhyun heard his phone vibrated inside his pocket. He looked around him and saw his manager giving him a warning look from afar. He flashed him a cheeky smile and put his hands back on the table.
He knew his manager is going to be mad about him bringing his phone together with him as he is going to perform later. His hand itched to look at his phone to check if there are any messages. He bit his bottom lip nervously and secretly glanced to the table at his far right. Turning his head a little more, he could see Taeyeon looking down at her phone.
Could it be that she was the one who texted him?
His curiosity got the better of him as he hastily took out his phone and unlocked the screen.
"What are you doing with your phone? We are going to perform later."Jongdae who is sitting on his right hissed at him and glanced warily at their manager who is staring at Baekhyun's hands. "Manager hyung is looking at you..."he whispered to his friend who is busy checking his phone.
Baekhyun smiled when he saw Taeyeon's name at the message box. He quickly read the message.
[ A kind reminder, there are a lot of fancams here, so don't look at me. Promise me. :) ]
He frowned and looked at Taeyeon, breaking his promise he never made. Surprisingly, Taeyeon herself was staring at him. When their eyes met, Taeyeon quickly lowered her eyes and looked at her phone.
Baekhyun's phone vibrated again.
[ I thought I told you not to look at me. ]
He smirked and typed back.
[ I didn't make any promises. ;) ]
Taeyeon sent back a quick reply before keeping her phone.
[ Don't winky face me! ]
"Baekhyun, it is time to head backstage to prepare our performance. We are next."his elder hyung nudged him. Baekhyun nodded and stuffed his phone into his back pocket.
Once they were backstage, they were greeted by Heechul who finished announcing stuff on the stage.
"Omo, I am so proud of my babies."Heechul joked, putting his arms around them.
"Hyung."all of them greeted him incoherently.
"Yo ma boy Baekhyun!"he put an arm around Baekhyun's shoulder.
"Chul hyung."Baekhyun let his senior's name slurred in his mouth.
"Taengoo told me to keep an eye on you and make sure that you don't get yourself into any trouble."Heechul leaned closer to Baekhyun and whispered to his ear.
"I promise I won't do anything stupid."
"Don't show any reaction later when Taeyeon wins that bonsang."Heechul said, playfully hitting Baekhyun's arm. "Remember what happened last year..."he added, reminding him of what happened last year in this very event.
He missed Taeyeon so much because the both of them were busy and never got the chance to properly see each other. When he finally sees her up close on the ending stage of SMA 2016, his eyes gave himself away, showing how much he misses her presence around him.
And after the event, a lot of fans were saying how many times he looked at her and started to get suspicious of their relationship.
"Don't worry hyung, I learned my lesson."Baekhyun smiled at him and patted Heechul's shoulder before following his members to the platform where they are going to be levitated up to the stage.
