"Thanks Byun Baek for helping me to handle the audio problem outside just now."Chanyeol thanked his friend as he patted him on the shoulder.
"No problem."Baekhyun replied. "In return, help me get the new cables in the store room."
"Aish, I knew that nice Baekhyun always have a condition."Chanyeol joked and left to go to the second floor to fetch the cables. Baekhyun shook his head slightly in amusement and continued fixing the machine that has just broke down. Without it, all of the artists will have to perform live with their completely raw voices. They can still perform without it, but the performance won't be as good.
"She's coming! She's coming!"a female staff informed everyone as she walked through the backstage. Baekhyun raised an eyebrow at the situation, as all of the staffs quickly ran to the side to give way to the person who is coming in. He rolled his eyes at the female solo artist's attitude, she thinks that she is so highly compared to them. People like her disgusts him.
Then she walked through the door. It is her turn to go on stage. With her nose held up high, her eyes scanned through the crowd that are cheering for her name outside. All of the staffs minded their own business and tried their best to avoid eye contact with her.
"Go and mic her."a female staff whispered to Baekhyun. He sighed, not understanding why everyone is afraid of her. He nodded and grabbed the mic equipment and approach the artist.
Kim Taeyeon wiped her sweaty palms against her dress as she glanced at the wild crowd outside. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that she won't screw up this performance. Although she has been a solo artist for two years now, she still feels nervous performing in front of a huge crowd.
She jumped when she felt someone touching her back. She quickly spun around and hit that person's arm.
"I'm trying to mic you, don't move."he said, glancing at her before resuming to do his job. Taeyeon scoffed and flipped her hair over her shoulder, intentionally hitting his face with her long hair.
"At least say somthing before touching me."
"I did. You were zoning out."he muttered.
"Can't you just give me a quick tap on the shoulder? That's what all the staffs do."she said and rolled her eyes at him.
"Although it's my first day on the job. I believe that I don't need to do that."
"What's your name? I want to report you to my manager."she spun around to face him. Baekhyun groaned because he was half way putting the mic on her.
"Baekhyun."he sighed and attempted to continue putting the mic on her.
"Well Baekhyun, say goodbye to your job tomorrow."
"I don't care."he said nonchalantly. When he was done with the mic, he spun around and left without saying anything further. Taeyeon clenched her fist as she stared at his retreating back. She doesn't feel good letting him treat her with disrespect.

It has been a week since their encounter and Taeyeon is coming back to perform again. She stood at the back of the stage, waiting for someone to come and help her to put on her mic. Her manager approached her first although she was expecting a certain guy who talked to her last week.
"Kim Taeyeon, I just received a call from the upper management."her manager informed her. "They are planning to give you another comeback next two months."
"So my vacation is cancelled?"
"Yes."
"Ugh."Taeyeon groaned. "Why can't they just let me rest?"she complained.
"Sorry Taeyeon, I can't do anything about it."her manager apologized in sincerely and left her there alone. Taeyeon sighed. She was actually looking forward to spend time with her family at home during her break, but now that she has another comeback to prepare, she has to postpone her visit to next year.
She jolted up when she felt a warm hand on her shoulder, she spun around to see Baekhyun behind her. Baekhyun didn't say anything as he waved the mic in front of her, indicating that he's going to help her to wear it.
Taeyeon gasped and looked away from him.
"Why are you crying?"
"What?"she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She was surprised that he ask her that because she was so sure that he didn't see her tears.
"Your eyes were sweating."Baekhyun stated, glancing at her.
"I wasn't."she denied.
"Well, you can't always get what you want."he said as he backed away from her after he finished putting on the mic on her. "If you chose to become a singer, that's the downside of it. No rest."he said.
"Isn't it rude of you to eavesdrop on our conversation?"she asked as she scowled at him.
"That wasn't a private conversation as you two were talking right in front of me."he said nonchalantly. "The next stage is yours."he said and turned away to leave. Taeyeon frowned and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"I'm not crying."she mumbled to herself and wiped away the small beads of tears around her eyes with her fingers.

"You again."Taeyeon muttered when she saw him.
"Yep it's me."he said as he stopped behind her to help her to put on the mic.
"Have you ever been nervous on stage?"she asked.
Baekhyun was taken aback by that question, but he contemplated about her question before answering her. "No. Why would I? I just work at the backstage."
He heard her sigh deeply.
"What's wrong?"he asked.
"I'm nervous."
"Nervous? I thought you have been a solo singer for two years."
"I don't like how huge the crowd is."she said.
"Erm...if it helps you feel any better, I will help you inform the lighting monitor to shine on you more instead of the crowd. So that you won't see them."he said.
"Er...thanks."she said.
"Wanna hear a joke?"he asked, making her turn around to look at him. "Knock knock."
She rolled her eyes and replied, "Who's there."
"The queen of kpop."he said and smiled cheekily.
"The queen of kpop who?"she asked, snorting out a laugh.
"Kim Taeyeon."
She chuckled and unconsciously hit his arm. "What the heck? It wasn't even funny."she laughed.
"But you are laughing."he grinned at her.
Taeyeon's manager was about to tell her that the company decided to push back her next comeback to let her rest. But her manager stopped dramatically when she saw Taeyeon laughing heartily for the first time.
