I sit by Peeta's side, brushing his hair from his face, when he got shot thanks to Annie who was able to save Peeta just in time. He's been on watch ever since because his temperature will go high and low if we're not careful but he's finally starting to get better, Willow hasn't seen him yet and she doesn't need to see him like this, she already had a huge scare when she thought he died. Peeta's eyes slowly open, he hasn't done so in weeks

"Hey" he croaks but smiles

"Hey honey, how you feeling?" I ask him

"Better. Still sore but I can feel my body healing" he replies, I get him to sip his water and I feel tears start to fall

"I thought I lost you... the pain I felt was unbearable at the thought of not having you in my life" I admit in tears

"But you didn't and I promise, when I'm all better we'll go home and we'll stay there. Okay?" He says and I nod, with all the strength he's got he reaches up to my face and wipes away my tears

"I love you, I always will. I know I haven't been the best husband or father lately and I'm sorry, I guess coming back and being alpha again got the better of me..." he admits with a frown

"Don't say that. I know Willow and Thomas don't think that way, they love you so much and so do I, you're the one I'll always and only love " I reply, I lean down and kiss him and I feel the warmth of his lips as he kisses me back, I've missed those lips.

I smile as Rye and Challah both help their baby brother to stand, it's been weeks since Peeta finally had opened his eyes and everyday since then he slowly started to get his strength back, Willow and Thomas were happy when they saw him and that now he's not dead, I cried when they reunited as it was the most bittersweet moment just thinking that how upset the kids would've been if he had actually died

"You goody buddy?" Rye asks as himself and Challah slowly let go of him

"Yeah...." Peeta sighs, I quickly walk over and give him his walking cane

"Why is his body taking so long to heal?" I ask

"Because his body has to get rid of the poison and heal all his bones, mussels and all the other parts that got poison in them" Challah replies and I nod

"Do you think you can walk?" I ask and he nods, each step he takes his legs shake and it looks like he almost falls but he's able to keep his balance and before we know it he's limping everywhere without falling over

"There you go. You've got the hang of it now" Rye chuckles

"Well I'm Alpha for a reason" Peeta smirks

"Hey now let's not get too cocky" Challah says

"But how do you think I got someone like Katniss" Peeta replies back making me roll my eyes but I still kiss him on his cheek, god I've missed this man.

"Daddy, this is a drawing I did" Willow proudly says

"Wow! That's amazing princess!" Peeta smiles as he sits on the couch with her and Thomas

"Thank you! That's you, that's me, that's mommy and that's Tommy" she explains

"I see.... it's beautiful and when we get back home we'll put it on the fridge" Peeta replies making her eyes sparkle, I decide to walk over and sit next to Peeta

"I thought I lost you.... I was so scared for once in my life" I whisper

"I know but I fought my way back to you and I always will" he replies kissing my temple and I finally feel whole again, I have my other piece.

I lay awake tired but not wanting to fall asleep, I look next to me and see Peeta sleeping soundly but also our little babies asleep in their beds, I tell myself that I must stay awake for them because I wouldn't be able to handle another kidnapping of someone I love

"Why aren't you asleep?" I hear Peeta ask

"Because I'm watching over my family" I whisper and Peeta sits up in bed

"Well they've all been caught and taken to the council now. Nothing else will happen, I promise" he reassures me

"Bu—"

"Okay, how about I'll keep watch and you sleep. Trust me I've had enough of it already, you on the other hand haven't so no buts just sleep" he replies making me sigh

"I'm so lucky to have you" I sigh as my eyelids start getting heavier and heavier before I fall completely asleep.

Next chapter they're back home and then it's the Epilouge only because I don't have inspiration for this book anymore. Sorry guys :(( and I'm sorry that it's so short, promise next chapter will be longer.
