After Scott and Connie reunite, we get down to business. We have to find a way to stop Alex.
"We all know that stopping Alex isn't an option. He's not going to be stopped by words. We'll have to fight." Connie explains.
"He's got the numbers. And the strength. He'll kill all of us." Avi interjects.
"We're not the only people who hate Alexander Kirk. We can start an army too." I point out.
"But what if we're still not strong enough?" Scott asks worriedly.
"Then we fight until we have nothing left..." Connie sighs.
We're silent after that for a moment. Then something clicks.
"Connie! Do you have contacts of the most powerful warlocks, lycans, werewolves, and healers?"
"Of course."
"If we have the most powerful people in the world on our team, we won't have to worry about Alexander Kirk."
She seems to be in deep thought for a few moments. "But if they're not willing to do that?"
"We find people. Top 5. Top 10. Hell, even top 20 would be sufficient. We need powerful people."
"I'll look into it." She says, already scrolling through her contacts. She holds the phone up to her ear and then puts a finger up as she leaves the room. "Hi! Lindsey? Lindsey Stirling?"
I can hear Scott's thoughts running rampid. "Scott, stop it." I say quietly and his head whips up so his eyes can meet mine.
"I'm just scared. I don't want to die Mitchie."
"I don't either, Scott. We'll come up with something. You will not end up leading that army. I promise."
He sighs and looks down. "Will you kiss me?" He mutters and I immediately look to Avi and Kirstie. Kirstie's eyes are filled with excitement from Scott's words and Avi is smirking at me.
I lean over and place my hand on the side of his neck, turning it slightly towards me. I continue leaning until our noses are touching.
"Is there something you want to say, Scott?"
He presses our lips together softly. The same spark of electricity runs through my body. I want to kiss these perfect lips forever.
We pull apart and he sighs out his reply to my question. "I love you, Mitchie." And our lips meet again. This time, more passionately. He licks my bottom lip, silently asking for entrance and I give it to him. We've completely forgotten about the fact that there are two other people in the room right now until...
"Alright so I've already gotte- oh." Scott and I tear away from each other and turn our heads to look at Connie. "Did I interrupt a moment?"
"Scott told Mitch that he loves him and then shoved his tongue down Mitch's throat." Avi responds.
Scott's cheeks turn bright red and he looks down at his hands.
"Well what I was about to say was... I've made about 8 calls already and we officially have 6 additional people. I'll make more calls tonight and over the next 12 days. This should work. But in the meantime, Mitch, your job is to find out what Scott's powers are. Test them out, if he can't do them it's fine. But if he can, evaluate how well he does it and the extent of his ability."
I nod my head at her words. "Okay. I can do that."
***** Time Skip: 2 days later
"Alright Scott, so now we're going to test if you can read minds. I want you to tell me what I'm thinking."
He nods his head. I stay silent in my head for a few seconds. He starts to look a little frustrated and confused so I decide to give in. 'I love you.' I think and he smirks.
"I love you too." He says outloud.
I smirk. "But how strong is it?" I ask rhetorically and use my speed to dart at least 200 meters away. And then 500. And then 1000. Then I'm halfway across the town and he can still hear me and he's communicating back.
'Can you still hear me Scott?' I ask in my head.
'Loud and clear, my love.' He replies.
'Well let's try this. Give me a few seconds.' I end up running all the way to a busy city. Far, far away from Arlington. There are loud people all around me. All of them have to be racing with thoughts. 'Scotty, can you still hear me?' I ask a bit seductively.
I don't get a reply from Scott. I hear Avi in my mind instead. 'MITCH GET OUT OF THERE!'
'Why?' He doesn't have time to reply. I'm grabbed by two pairs of familiar hands and picked up by another pair of hands. Then I'm thrown into the back of a black van.
"You still haven't learned to control your thoughts?" Alex's voice snarls behind my ear. "If Scott won't lead this army, then you will."
