Feeding was a-ma-zing. I never thought I could love the taste of blood so much.

Mitch is... even more flawless now. It still baffles me that I'm just like him now.

It also still baffles me that I'm dead.

I'm really dead.

I can live forever with this beautiful man in front of me.

Mitch and I are sitting in his living room, talking about the life of a vampire.

"Pretty much, like I've said before, we can only die by the hands of another creature. They would have to rip your head off. Nothing else will work. If a limb gets torn off, it can take up to an hour to rejuvenate." Mitch explains to me.

"So we bleed right? This isn't like Twilight. We're not just cold stone."

"Correct, there's blood coursing through our veins just like any other human's. It's odd though, because our hearts don't beat. Nor do our lungs inflate. But we can live amongst the mortals and go unnoticed. Just that little difference inside of us."

"I find that fascinating." I lean a bit forward in my seat and rest my head on my hands, listening intently to him.

He continues telling me things about everything. He gives me more information about every creature. We've been talking for almost three whole hours when we hear a knock on the door.

I light up. "Visitor?" I exclaim excitedly. He slaps a hand over my mouth. "Ow." I mutter against his hand.

He starts walking over to the door carefully and holds his hand out to stop me when I follow him. I stop and he walks to the door.

He almost falls back after he peers out the door. He turns around and grimaces, silently whining. Who's out there?

"Mitchie? I can hear you in there; don't ignore me. I only want to talk." The voice on the other side of the door speaks. I recognize the voice... but from where?

"Go away." Mitch sounds so weak right now. Who could possibly make him that way?

"I can hear his thoughts Mitch. And I can hear yours- OPEN THE DOOR!" The man slams a fist against the door, making Mitch and I jump.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He screams.

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR MITCH! I'LL BREAK IT DOWN IF I HAVE TO!" He continues banging on the door, the hinges are looking like they'll give out at any second.

"OKAY OKAY STOP! Please! Don't break my door down please! I'll open the door." He murmurs the last sentence in defeat.

"Thank you." Mitch gives me a warning look before sighing deeply and throwing the door open.

There, standing before me, is the man that attacked me only two days ago. I immediately freeze. "You..." I start and stop myself.

He eyes me and smirks. "Recognize me?" He asks in that same voice. The same he used when he asked me if I had a designated driver.

I just stare at him. Mitch cuts in. "Don't confuse him. He's still coming to terms with what he is."

The man scoffs. "He knows what he is. I know you told him everything he needs to know. That's why I called for you. I knew you would find him." He smiles proudly as he speaks.

"You are a sick, sick man. He is a child. You took his life from him." Mitch looks completely disgusted with this man.

"What are you talking about Mitch? We both know that you're the one that turned him." I turn my attention to Mitch now who looks terrified.

"Mitch? You did this to me?"

"You know that I didn't do this. I cried Scott. I cried when I found out how young you were. I didn't want you to-"

"He's lying Scott." The man cuts Mitch off. "He's been cooped up in this place for almost 20 years by himself. He wanted company. So he made you."

I look at Mitch, almost angry now. "Is this true?" I ask and he flinches at my tone.

"No. None of this is true. You know me, Scott, you know-"

"I've known you for two days Mitch."

"AND YOU KNEW HIM FOR FIVE MINUTES BEFORE HE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED YOU AND CHANGED YOU!"

"You're a liar!" I push him and he flies halfway across the room before crashing into the living room table. The man at the door smirks.

"Damn you're strong." He puts a hand on my shoulder. "How about you come with me and we leave this miserable man. I can't believe he tried to blame this on me. You trust me, don't you?" He asks and my eyes meet his for a split second.

I want to be skeptical but my mind tell me otherwise. "Of course I trust you."

"Scott please!" Mitch's voice cracks. "He's using his mind control Scott, fight it!"

"Fuck you." I spit out. "You took my life. I'm leaving with..." I turn to him.

"Alex." He grins.

"Im leaving with Alex. Goodbye Mitch."

We walk out the front door. I hear a loud sob from inside.

He's pathetic. He did this to me and he's the one crying. But do I really believe that?

"I know right? He really is pathetic." He says chuckling. He opens the passenger door to his car sitting in the driveway and closes it behind me once I climb in. Then he gets behind the wheel. "By the way, you might as well just say whatever you're thinking. No matter what, I can hear you. It saves you the confusion."

But I'm not listening to him. I'm too busy studying his features.

His sculpted jawline is the first thing to catch my eye. Then his long blond eyelashes. His eyes are dark green today. His face is so soft and his lips curve into the perfect smile.

His body is so chiseled yet still smaller than mine. His shoulders are muscly but still narrow. His arms are strong but still slender.

He's beautiful. But he's not beautiful like Mitch. No! Stop thinking about Mitch. He betrayed me.

"You're staring." Alex says with a smirk.

"Because you're beautiful." I simply reply.
