"What got into you Scotty?" His soothing voice seems to course through my brain cells as his hands stroke through my blond locks. "You were starting to sound like... him."
My heart shatters at the mention of Alex. I was sounding like him? I can't be like Alex... I can't be like him! I can't hurt Mitchie and kill innocent people! I'm not Alex, I'm Scott! Scott Hoying! I sob loudly into Mitch's shirt. "I'm not like him I promise." I choke out through my sobs.
"I'm curious as to what got into you too." The voice that is not my Mitchie's pulls me out of the space I'm in. I gasp when I realize it's the principal.
"Mr. Updegraff!" Mitch exclaims, slightly pushing me off of him.
"What is going on out here? Why aren't you in class? Why did Scott sound so... demonic? His eyes were so..." If he heard my voice then he's been here for a while watching us. He trails off as I saunter towards him slowly, letting my blue orbs substitute with my Soul ones. He stares into my eyes as he finishes the sentence. "...Hellish."
He can't find out. He can't know I'm different. "No one can know that I'm different..." I mutter as I get ready to use my compelling powers.
"Scott?" I hear Mitch whisper worriedly. Why is he worried? I'm about to fix everything.
"I'm not different." I say to the principal. I make my thoughts go straight to his brain.
'You'll forget you ever saw that.' 'You look a bit shaken up. Are you okay?' 'Scott Hoying is just like any other student here... normal.' He looks really confused for second before his hands reach up to grip his hair tightly.
"STOP THAT!" He screams and tugs at his hair roughly. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU FREAK!"
"I'M NOT DIFFERENT!" I scream back. I decide to calm down so this will work better. "You didn't see anything, right?" I ask soothingly.
He whimpers at my change of tone. "B-b-but I did. Your eyes!"
"You didn't see my eyes." I force my Soul eyes to transform back into my blue eyes.
"Yes I did! Th-They're red! And black instead of white! They're... creepy."
Why aren't my compelling powers working!? This should have been long forgotten by now!
"WHY WONT YOU FORGET YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?" I exclaim. This has never happened. Am I... Am I getting weak?
"I WILL NOT TOLERATE A STUDENT SPEAKING TO ME THAT WAY!"
"Mr. Updegraff." Mitch cuts in calmly. "A student was injured in there... why don't you go check and see how they're doing?"
"Okay." Mr. Updegraff replies just as calm as Mitch spoke. He begins to turn towards the classroom.
"And sir?" He turns back around to face Mitch. "Nothing happened here."
"Okay."
Did he just...?
