"No... No! No! NO! NO!" Alex screams  as his hands clutch at his hair. I wince as I feel my own hairs being ripped out. The tingling feeling in my heart has intensified in the past few minutes, which is most likely the cause of Alex's breakdown.

He suddenly pauses his small breakdown. His head whips in my direction so fast that he must have gotten whiplash. Oh wait, I would have felt it.

He starts laughing... not just any laugh, but a menacing, villianous laugh that just screams 'bad news.' "You know, Scott." He starts. "I almost forgot how much of a piece of shit I am."

He just sits there smiling for a few minutes before speaking again. I wish the silence was worse than the words that escape his mouth. "No matter what, I'll end up killing you. You'll die. They'll suffer. Especially Mitch. Mitch will suffer more than anyone else. He'll never find out his true potential if he's too busy grieving over 'the love of his life'." He uses air quotes around the words and I feel my heart twitch. Mitch actually refers to me as the love of his life?

"Mitch will never realize he has the potential to rule the world." Alex mutters and if he spoke any quieter I wouldn't have been able to hear him, even with my good ears. "He's like every creature combined into one vampire body. He can shapeshift. He can use magic to freeze the entire galaxy, or end world hunger. He has the power to stop time. Shit, he could kill the entire planet and bring it back to life like that-" He snaps his fingers once before continuing. "But he's been blinded. Blinded by love... By his past... And by what he thinks is his future... It's sad, really."

"Who's sad?" Mitch asks loudly as he bursts through the front door. Alex's entire inquitious outlook has switched around to a seemingly innocent one in a flash.

What the hell was all of that? He's going to kill me? And all that stuff about Mitch? Is it true? That's what he meant when he said special. This is crazy.

"I am. Before you set my soul free, I have one final request..." Mitch eyes him suspiciously before lowering his guard.

"Okay."

"Let me out of this invisible cage before you set me free. Please." DONT DO IT OH MY GOD.

Mitch and Avi's eyes meet before they both shrug.

"I guess so." Mitch says blandly. Avi's eyes glow bright for a moment before the air around Alex thins out and he is released from his invisible cell. "Any final words before you're gone forever?"

"Yes actually." He takes a deep breath and stands. Every bone in my spine cracks and pops as he straightens it out. "I know you heard every word I said before you came in here. Yes, you're that special. That's why I kept you captive when I first changed you. I just couldn't stand the thought of someone being better than me. And I was so in love that I just didn't want to let you go. I still am in love with you, whether I show it well or not, and I want the best for you." He smirks and the same malicious laugh from before erupts from his throat. "But...

"It's too bad that you'll never be able to live up to your full potential." He swiftly moves to the kitchen using my speed. I watch in horror as he holds a large butcher knife up to his own (my own) throat. "Say goodbye Scott."

"NO!" Mitch screams.

The next thing I know...

The knife is plunged into my throat.
