"Scott, can you come here?" Alex is downstairs in the living room when he calls for me.
I stride down the stairs and stride over to the couch where he's sitting. I plop down and throw my arms around him. I kiss his cheek softly. "Yes, Allie?"
"Your birthday is in 2 days." He says. "You'll be turning 18."
'Yeah I would be turning 18 if you didn't kill me a while back.' I've learned how to hide my thoughts. It's a power that Mitch found out I had before we moved onto mind reading. It's kind of like a shield. I can project it and everything. It's really fun but it takes a lot of energy. I keep my shield up 24/7 when I'm around Alex. I can't risk falling to his mind tricks. "You're right. I'll also be killing some of my so-called 'friends'."
He turns his head and kisses me softly. He chuckles quietly as he pulls away. "You're right. Are you ready?" He asks me.
The plan, in two days, is about to go into action. I have to try not to think about the plan, because I'm always at risk of accidentally letting my shield fall. I can't risk Alex finding out. He'll kill me. I'm not ready but I nod. "I'm ready."
He kisses my temple, stroking a comforting hand along my arm. "You have no clue how much you coming back means to me. I didn't want Mitch to kill you and then I have to kill Mitch. I wan-"
"Wait wait. You told Mitch to kill me?" His eyes widen as he realizes his own slip up.
He shakes his head violently. "No! Of course not. I would never do that. I wouldn't want him to kill you. I want to see the hurt and betrayal in his eyes when you end his life." He grins evilly.
"Oh okay." I sigh a fake sigh of relief. "You scared me for a second there."
He turns my head towards him and connects our lips a bit more passionately than before. He pulls away with a small string of saliva between us. "You know that I love you. So, so much."
I nod my head and then rest my head on his shoulder. "Yeah I do. I love you too."
Alex has no idea what's about to hit him.
And I can't wait to see the look on his face when he finds out what's happening. Then suddenly, the doorbell rings. Alex eyes me curiously... almost accusingly. What did I do?
"There's a whole pack of werewolves here looking for you, Scott." He says calmly but I can see the steam practically flowing out of him.
Fuck.
