MISSING YOU

I woke up this morning craving for your embrace

But I know, all of my wishes will just go to waste

You're already gone and now in a better place

In my heart, nothing's left but a hollow space

Grieving is a luxury that I cannot afford

Crying is an action I really need to avoid

Happiness is something I cannot hoard

This is not the time to be foolish or spoiled

Is there any reason left for me to celebrate?

What's the point in blowing the candles in that cake?

I know, there's no gift that can compensate

Your presence was something no one can ever replace

You might scold me for being sad and blue

But it hurts to have this birthday without you!

You raised me to be tough, yes that's true

But right now, I just want to scream "Mama, I miss you!"
