it didn't feel like much time had passed when he was with Patrick and Frank, but when tyler stirred, birds were merrily chirping, and the grass his arms were resting on was covered with dew.
he blinked a few times, and shakingly got up from the ground. he scratched his head a few times, and remembering what Frank said to him so he could find out his task, he thought about josh.of course.
up. he started to fly to josh's house. he had memorized how to get there from every point in Columbus when he was, well, alive.
he didn't know what he was going to do when he got there, but he needed to see josh.
upon arriving there, he went up to josh's room and looked to see the young boy tearing at his flesh with a small blade. blood covered his desk, and acidic tears ran down his pink cheeks.
tyler stared until josh stopped and went to get dressed. tyler then decided to snoop around to see if there was anything that could help him figure out his task.
he phased through the window, then realized, oh crap! i've gone on the same level as air now. feeling obvious annoyance, he floated in until he banged his knee on the bad frame. he cursed, and josh spun around in fear, until he saw there was nothing there. he went back to browsing through clothes.tyler's eyes widened. he could phase through a house, but he got stopped by a mattress? he calmed down, then tried to touch the mattress again. his hand settled on it. that's the point tyler realized he could control his corporeal state. he looked up, to see josh hastily throwing on a pink shirt, no longer noticing anything in his direction. tyler shrugged, and floated over to the desk, where josh's blood was scribbled over, next to a bottle of rubbing alcohol. with an uneasy feeling in his chest, he scanned the rest of the desk for anything to help him, a diary or plans written down. nothing. tyler then heard the door slam, and josh had exited the room.
now, ty could do this. his looked through drawers, shelves, various items scattered across the floor. after looking through a small set of books, tyler checked under the bed. bingo!
a diary was nestled under josh's bed, black and red with a white heading. tyler slid under to get it, and grabbed it. josh could come back any minute. tyler rushed through the window, and brought the diary behind the church dumpsters. he had seen on his best friends calendar that it was now a monday.
he sat down, and fiddled through the pages, his wings extending in suspension, as he got to the latest entry. his wings shrank down to hug tyler and wipe away his tears.
