tyler joseph was seventeen years old when he passed away. joshua dun was eighteen. now, the angel of tyler watched over josh as he sprinted away from the town of wilmette, illinois, because he was scared of making anymore friends, scared that they would see how the younger, dead kid affected him. and if either they or him would turn out the same way: dead.

josh skidded to a halt after running half a mile east, and caught his breath. he looked in front of him, to see cars lights blinding him. he went to the side, and gave a thumbs up. after a little while, a trailer slowed and pulled over, letting josh hop into shotgun.

"hello! how're you?" josh looked at the voice addressing him in the drivers' seat. the guy that offered him a ride seemed only a little older that him, with an emo haircut and a large forehead, looking kind of familiar. josh figured, hey, this dude was kind enough to stop and allow a complete stranger to get in his moving house, some guy that might as well be a serial killer, he could be nice to him.

"i'm well, you?" josh replied, and driver boy looked at him with a full teeth smile.
"great, thanks for asking. my names brendon. who're you?"

he was seeming even more familiar. josh couldn't recall how, though. "josh." he responded, and added at the end, "i actually don't have anywhere to go, so you can drop me anywhere around your destination." brendon nodded, and mention how that might take a while, but he'll do it. he started to blab about random stuff to josh, asking questions and such, when suddenly he stopped and turned up the radio. i write sins, not tragedies by panic! at the disco started playing. so that's how josh recalled him.

"holy shit, i knew i recognized you! you're brendon urie! this is your song!"

brendon only grinned again. "live, not in stereo. everyone else in panic! is sleeping in the back, and if you're tired, you can take either my bunk or the couch. i'm basically nocturnal."

josh politely declined, and listened to brendon talk for a while. well, he pretended to listen.

"-so we were headed this way, then stopping in chicago, but we were gonna pick up out friends pete, joe, and andy first, but they called a few minutes before i pulled over to pick you up saying that some dickhead knocked pete unconscious. that sucks, but they said that then they'd join us after our chicago show tomorrow." josh heard that, and didn't respond.

"by the way, man, if you have nowhere to go, you're welcome to hang with us for a while. maybe even join. can you play any instruments?"

josh chocked out a response. "drums. but it's fine, i don't need false pity."

"no dude, it's not false pity, you're a cool guy, and i know the guys in the back will love ya. but it's a common occurrence for us to run out of milk. so be weary of that."

josh smiled, and nodded. they actually had normal conversations for a while after, and after a few hours, everyone woke up, and josh linked with everyone. tyler smiled from above.

it's about time he forgets me.

but none of them, tyler included, knew about the shit that would go down in the chicago show.
