Today is the day, I start my work at Riley's home and I'm nervous. Riley seems like a perfectionist, I dare not make any mistakes, Mike would fire my ass. I was going to take It step by step. We had about two weeks and a few days to complete the house. I'm going to start with the top floor in the first week, Riley's bedroom, the kids rooms, the family room, the kids playroom and two guest rooms.
Tim and Phil came with me today, this time, I forced their names out of them, we were going to be working together for two weeks, at least I should know their names!
They helped me move the giant sized bed into Riley's room, the alpaca rug and an antique cocktail table. They did the same for the kids room and playroom, it was really stressful for them but they didn't complain. They also helped me hang some of Riley's art works above her bed. The room already looked good, with everything in place. The white leather chairs, the center table complimented the rug really well, and with her expensive artworks, the room look beautiful. I spread the Colfax and Fowler fabric over the bed, arranged the Hermes throw pillows on it and hung cream colored Holland and Sherry curtains. Even Tim and Phil seem pleased at what I'd done. For the bathroom, which was my favorite part, because I couldn't get over the Ann sacks gray striated marble design, I added a few bathroom lamps and a disco-ball like chandelier. I added a few touches here and there, the bathroom looked fun and cheerful when I was done, which is what I was going for.
The kids room was next on my list, Mike had sent me a professional painter. For the sports theme, he had painted a guy shooting a ball going into the basket Tim and Phil had fixed earlier on, It looked so real, the guy was really good. I decorated that particular room with a black and red bed frame, which I donned with a blue duvet and matching Hermes throw pillows. I kinda think I went overboard, with two balls on both sides of the bed, in addition to the basket hanging on the wall and the painting of a guy shooting. The really cool part was the neon lights above his bed which displayed Leo's name.
Tim came by at that moment to see if I needed help with anything, I decided to hear his thoughts on the room, he is a guy after all.
"So what do you think Tim, too much?"
"No looks great, the kid's going to love it."
He put my mind at ease with those words, I just hope he's right and Leo loves it or the consequences would be disastrous.
With most of the top floor done, we were left with Chris's room and the playroom. I decided to call it a day, most of them were tired and I needed them to rest well, so they could have enough energy to continue tomorrow. It was almost 7pm and I figured there was no point in me going to the office to give Mike an update, it was late. We all dispersed, Tim and Phil dropped me off a few blocks from my home, as I wanted to get some fries and cheeseburger at McDonald's, there was no way in hell I could prepare something in this tired state.
I walked home, with my food in my hand, It took me fifteen minutes to get to my doorstep. When I got home, Leslie and James were standing in front of my door, waiting for me. James was holding a bottle of some type of wine tightly.
My smile grew wider at that moment, I was so happy to see them, after a long and stressful day, this was definitely what I needed.
I pulled them into a hug, and we stood like that for close to five minutes.
"I've missed you guys so much," I said, almost breaking down. This was the longest I had being apart from them.
"Shhh, don't cry Ketchup, we're here to make you feel better," James said. I smacked his shoulder, to which he groaned slightly. Leslie and I both laughed, serves him right. He knows how much I hate that nickname.
