The next day, I met up with my sister for lunch. My mom's birthday was next Friday and I had very little time to put everything together. To make our job easier, my sister and I decided to hire an events planner who would help us decorate mom's garden perfectly, we had met with the caterers and we now knew exactly how many guests we were expecting.

With everything set in stone, I calmed down a bit and decided to hang out with Stephanie later on. It's being a while since we hung out and I've really missed her, we were going to see a movie, 'A Bad Mom Christmas'. It was a new movie and I really wanted to see it, plus, what better way to catch up than over a huge bag of popcorn and a good laugh? I was really looking forward to that.

My phone buzzed and I swiped it on, I was disappointed to find out it was just my mom telling me to check out some recipe she discovered on the internet. Usually, I'd have replied her but I expected that message to be from someone else. Cory hadn't called nor texted me ever since the last time he was at my office. I was disappointed to say the least, I'm well aware it's wrong to pursue a relationship with a client but I haven't really being able to get Cory out of my head. I plan on telling Stephanie all about it, just to get it off my chest and who knows, she might be able to give me some advice.

I got out some left-over pizza from the fridge and heated it up a bit, I hadn't really had anything to eat with how busy I'd been all day, I finished up the pizza and headed over to my room to get ready.

I got ready as fast as possible, wearing a red crop top and dark high-waisted jeans, going with some smokey-eyes and bold pink lipstick. I got my keys of my dresser and headed out the door in seconds. It took me twenty minutes to get to Stephanie's place.

I climbed up the stairs to her apartment and was about to knock on the door when it swung open.

"You fucking asshole," Stephanie yelled, pushing a guy out of her apartment. I stepped aside and watched with interest as the drama unfolded before me. I wondered who it was but whoever it was, I was so glad I wasn't in their shoes.

"Please Stephie, I promise you, I've changed. In fact, as we speak, my lawyer is in the process of drawing up the divorce papers, I really love you," he said, almost in tears. It was then I finally recognized him. It was Dylan the married man whom Steph had gone on a date with, she was oblivious to the fact at the time, and was very much pissed when she found out the truth. I gasped at my discovery, making them finally notice me, but she was too pissed to even acknowledge me. I wanted to step in but I knew Stephanie all too well, she might end up punching me.

"You love me?" She asked with a huge 'smile' on her face. Anyone else could've seen it was fake and fled for their lives but not this fool, he actually bought it. "Wait here, let me get some water from the kitchen."

"Uh-oh," I muttered, this was not good, I had to do something but instead, I just stayed glued to my spot in the hallway. He nodded his head, obviously rejoicing that my friend had finally conceded.

Steph came out from the kitchen and in one swift move, she flung a rolling pin at his head. He was lucky she missed her aim and when she went back in to grab another object, he had fled for his dear life.

She went after him with a glass in her hand. "Come back you loser," she shouted, but he was already gone. I laughed so hard, this was more entertaining than any movie.

"You piece of shit," she growled again. I allowed her to calm down a little before I engulfed her in warm bear hug. She sobbed a little and I felt really bad for her.

It was really difficult to calm Steph down, she was so pissed and she was panting heavily. Finally, after a series of "I'm sorry" and "Its okay", she was a lot more better and could finally talk.
