"Okay, what about this one? Its red and you'd look hot in it," Jenny said.

"Yeah, but it's too short and too sexy," I said. There's no way I'd expose my back and my legs like that, it's too much.

"Girl I give up, we've been doing this for the past thirty minutes and you always have something to complain about. Well, if you can't find a dress you like, you might as well just go naked," Jenny said, throwing her hands up. I laughed, like that would ever happen, I was also tired but I had to keep searching till I found the ''perfect'' dress.

"Okay, how about this one? I've only worn it once, you know, that day at the New Year's Eve party at the hotel. What do you think?" I asked her and she groaned in response.
''Come on Jenny.'' I knew she was tired and also very impatient but I really needed her help.

"I think it's perfect, it doesn't show a lot of skin, it hugs you perfectly and you can never go wrong with a black dress."

" Yeah!" I exclaimed. "Thank you, thank you," I said. "Would you look at the time? I have to go get ready, he'll be here any moment from now."

Jenny helped me get ready, I had little time and a lot to do. We still managed to make me look fabulous, even with the short amount of time. With some foundation, little bit of powder, burgundy smokey eyes and bold red lips, I looked really hot. Jenny let my hair fall and styled it in a way I didn't even know was possible. I went with minimal jewellery, gold earrings, a bracelet and gold stilettos.

"Wow!" I said, looking myself in the mirror.

"I know babes, you look gorgeous, Luke is going to have a hard time concentrating on anything at all tonight, he might even forget his speech."

That made me feel uncomfortable, I hope my outfit wasn't too much, Jenny noticed my discomfort.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Well, I just hope it's not too much, you know, the dress, everything," I said, getting really nervous at the thought. I could've have gone for something simpler. Jenny did nothing to help with my nerves, instead, she laughed at me.

"What's so funny?" I asked, slightly irritated.

"Your nervousness obviously. Allie dear, listen to me, I know it's been a long time you went on a date and I can tell you really like Luke, just be yourself okay? Don't act weird or try too hard to impress him, you look beautiful, that dress is perfect and no, it isn't too much, it's just right," she replied.

"Well thanks," I said and hugged her briefly. That really made me feel better, I haven't been out with a guy since I and Jake broke up, but it was time for me to move on. Seeing him at the grocery store helped me see things in a whole new light, Jake was an asshole, a selfish one at that, I wonder what ever made me fall for him. I'm also quite sure he cheated on me throughout the years of our relationship, even went as far as flirting with my sister. I thought I loved him but looking back, I don't think it was love, the relationship was just too easy and comfortable, the sparks in our relationship died a long time ago and then it just became easy. I moved in with him, we went on dates few times in a month. Nothing was special, even the s** was bad, but I was willing to settle for that because of all the years I gave him, thank goodness I didn't. This time around I would take things really slow, I really like Luke but I'm not so sure he feels the same way and even if he did, would he be willing to wait or take things slow with me? He might even think it's stupid, but I've learnt from my mistakes and I don't want to end up with another "Jake" again.

The doorbell buzzed, it was definitely him at the door, I and Jenny screamed quietly so he wouldn't hear us. Sometimes, we could act like teenagers.
