Chapter 48- Mark's Confession

Lina was laying in bed facing Mark, her eyes fluttering close and opening again as they felt heavy, but she was trying to fight off the sleep.

"Angie, try closing your eyes. If you don't want to sleep, just let your eyes rest for a moment hmm?" Mark spoke softly.

Lina fluttered her eye close.

Mark put his hand out and tapped her upper back gently.

Lina opened her eyes again, looking to Mark in confusion.

"My mum... she would always do this to me as a child, when I had restless nights" Mark told.

"Hmm.." Lina gave a small smile.

"Do you... miss your mum?" Lina asked, her eyes still opened.

"Ofcourse. All the time. She calls every other day to check up on how I'm doing, which is great because, if it was down to me, I'd forget to call her. I'm so busy with schedules" Mark told.

"Where do your parents live?" Lina asked.

"In California, LA. I was born there, but grew up in Brazil, before moving back to California with my family again." Mark told.

"That's far" Lina yawned." You should ask Mr Park to let you have some time off to go back and be with your family for some time. How long has it been since you last saw them?" Lina asked.

"Ermm... it's coming up to 2 and a half years now. Since we debuted." He  told her.

"That's waaaay too long " Lina frowned. "Won't you guy's have like tours in other countries? If you do it in LA, you could also meet your family then." Lina suggested.

"Actually, we're still talking about that.  I actually want to do a world wide tour, not just around Asia, but America and Europe too."

It went silent again.

Mark stopped tapping Lina and cleared his throat, as he tried to think of the right way to speak about what was on his mind all this time.

"Angie... about the other day. I'm sorry. I had promised you that I'd try and sort things out with SooAh, that I'd do it properly and try my best not to hurt her... but I guess everything went against me that day." He told her nervously.

Lina nodded. "I know. I saw it all happen. I was there remember? But... Mark, why did you lie to SooAh and say you have feelings for me?"

Mark blushed "that bit... wasn't a lie."

Lina looked to him wide eyed before blinking and blushing as she looked away from Marks stare.

"I.. like you Lina. A lot actually. I don't know when it started, but I realised you meant more to me than just a friend, when that stuff happened with that pervert guy. I just... I couldn't hold my anger in. Seeing that jerk... he really boiled my blood. All I could think about was, what he must have done to you. Even though he was half unconcious after Jinyoung and JaeBum delt with him, I wanted to make sure he was fully out, so that when he woke up again, he'd feel all the pain, he'd remember all the disgusting things he's ever done and next time think twice before he raises a hand on another women." Mark told glaring into the distance.

Lina noticed him clenching and unclenching his jaw.

"But... why would you... I don't get why me from all people?" Lina asked confused.

Mark snapped out of his daiz and looked to her "Shhh. Let's talk about this some other time. Why are your eyes still open? Come'n. No more talking now. You need to rest" Mark told beginning to tap her again.
