What We Speak

Depth of one's soul,

Looking down an endless hole,

Was it ever whole?

The emptiness in the heart,

A person's emotions in a cart,

Flows straight like a dart,

Hiding feelings on the surface,

Emotional eclipse seldom surface,

Heart inside out on the surface.

Why is it that we seldom speak?

What we speak we never feel,

What we feel we never speak.

Hard to explain a person's mind,

In a war of heart and mind,

Few dare to part from mind.

Seven sins are known far and wide,

Few speak of the sin of plight,

Yet the sin of killing heart is known far wide.

A mid winter's night,

People trembling by cold's might,

A girl walking held everyone's sight,

A fallen angel wouldn't have looked so pretty,

Satan's lust wouldn't have looked so pretty,

Yet the price of beauty is very hefty.

On the curb of a lone alley,

Men came and trapped her in the alley,

For all she looked she found no ally.

"Just a kiss miss" said one,

"The prettiest I have ever seen" said another one,

"Lets take her whole!" said the last one.

Terrified she tried to run,

Her coat fell in the run,

She dared not pick it up for she had to run.

Her bosom showing more so than ever,

Made the men run faster than ever,

The girl never had a chance what-so-ever.

In the cold night where people froze to death,

The girl was frozen near to death,

Yet she would never had chosen these men's warmth over death.

As the men pounced,

She made a shrill sound,

Then came another man's sound.

"What do you think you are doing?" said the man,

"Leave her alone" said the man,

Taking off his coat getting ready to fight was the man.

Seeing a witness two of the men ran,

The last one took out a knife from his pants,

Yet he never stood any chance.

The man found the lady's coat,

Took her to her house by the moat,

She recovered quickly by his support.

That was not the last of their meetings,

For the girl had taken a liking to his greetings,

She loved having those meetings.

She never knew when she began getting those feelings,

She never knew what was in those feelings,

All she knew was she had those feelings.

Watching the man laugh was what she loved,

Watching the man talk was what she loved,

Watching the man go was what she could never love.

She never told the man about her feelings,

For she was afraid of his feelings,

And what they might do to her feelings.

Yet the love that dwelled in heart,

Was growing stronger strangling her heart,

Until she could no longer bear the pain of her heart.

She decided to tell the man,

And whatever would happen she would still love the man,

For her heart was now the man's.

The sun was high in the day,

She was about to meet the man that day,

Moon was close to the sun that day.

She took it as a sign from heavens,

For all knew the love of the beings from heaven,

And today they were going to meet and shake the heavens.

The man came with a card in his hands,

He had a ring on his hand,

He handed the card to her hands.

An invitation to his marriage ceremony,

Her heart felt a stab of agony,

Her feelings felt so phony.

Moon clouded the sun,

A solar eclipse called by some,

Hiding the view of the sun.

Tears welled up in her eyes,

She hugged him and cried,

Said joy had brought those tears.

She kissed his cheeks said goodbye,

Apparently her "nanny had died",

She had to go to her pyre.

She wished him luck and went away,

Every step took a bit of her life away,

Every tears took bit of her heart away.

She was never seen in the city again,

The man could never find her again,

The man could never love her again,

For the man did love her from all his heart,

It was all a ruse to see what was in her heart,

To see what it would do when it felt apart.

Two hearts were killed that day,

Two lives were broken that day,

Two souls were emptied that day.

Why is that we seldom speak?

What we speak we never feel,

What we feel we never speak.
