Right after, I heard my mother knocking on the door, "Emi, are you in there?" she says. Me and Keith jump back and blush as hard as we can. I jump up and open the door. "H... Hi mom." I say trying to keep my cool but I know that my cheeks burning. As soon as I look up at my mother's face I can see her pupils widen, then she storms in my room yelling. "Emily Ann Smith, Explain to me why you have a boy in this room, WITH THE DOOR SHUT!" She stands there and waits for me to answer and I panic not knowing what to say because I've never seen her this mad before. "It's not her fault it's mine, I'm terrible sorry I didn't mean to cause a commotion I only came over because I needed help with my math homework." Keith explains trying to take the heat for me. "Yeah ok, so I'm supposed to believe you are coming over here, to work on math homework? What, do you think I was born yesterday?!" she shouts. I didn't know what to do. "Mom I can explain!" But she wasn't listening. "Get out of my house!" I looked at Keith and he looked horrified "please mom nothing happened!" I tried to explain. "I don't care, he is a bad influence! Now get out!" She yelled "but mom..." he was already out of my room and down the stairs. I turned to her "I can handle myself, we weren't doing anything! I'm a vampire remember!" I shout ,not realizing what I had just said. When I look up at my mom her face looks blank, for a second then run out the door to catch up with Keith. Before I walk out the front door I turn around to see if my mother had followed after me, but I don't think she even moved from where i left her. I turn around and walk out the door to look for Keith and I can't find him anywhere. "Dang it!" I say irritated, then all of a sudden I feel something yank me off my porch into a bush. "Hey, did your mom follow you?" I hear Keith whisper, then he looks around to see if she's there. "No, we're in the clear... I think?" I say looking back at the front door. Keith hugs me, "Well, my first meeting with your mom didn't go to great!" he laughs trying to brighten up the mood. I hug him back and laugh along. "No....no I don't think it did!" he lets go then pecks me on the lips. "I guess I've had enough fun for tonight. I'll let you get some rest and met you here at 7:30 sharp, to pick you up for school." He smiles, then glances at the front door, so he doesn't get caught. Then he's gone, I hesitate for a minute before I go inside because I'm not sure how my mom's going to react when I go in.
