A Bite

Chapter 12

When I wake up, I had the taste of blood in my mouth. I shoot up wondering why. "Bout time you woke up. Hey by the way, how long has it been since you have eaten anything?" Silas says, wiping off my mouth with his sleeve. "I....I'm not sure?" I say trying to remember, then it hits me. "Whose blood did I...." I turn around looking to see if I've done something unforgivable. "Don't worry, you didn't touch your mother." He touches the bottom of my chin, turning my head towards him. "You drank my blood." he says smiling, pointing to his neck. "It was good wasn't it." he smirks, pulling my face closer to his. Immediately i think of Keith, "No!" I say pushing him away.

"What do you mean 'No!" Silas says irritated. He grabs both my arms and pins me to my bed. "Don't tell me no!" He says right before he kisses me. I struggle to break free from his grip and finally push him off. "URGH! I don't even know you! Why are you even doing these things, with a person you just meet!?" I shout, frantically trying to wipe his kiss off my mouth. "Well as you said earlier, 'I'm your stalker' aren't I? So this really isn't the first time meeting." he smirks which ticks me off, Then he gets up. "Plus you still have a letter to read, everything will make since then." he says getting serious, he throws the cover off me and picks me up princess style. "H..Hey put my down I can walk!" I argue, even though in my mind this isn't half bad being treated like a princess. "Just shut up and let me carry you, believe me this won't happen often." He smiles looking me in the face. I go quiet and just let him carry me. When we get to the stairs my mother is standing at the bottom. "Old lady you go-" right before he finishes I elbow him in the stomach. "Don't call her that she has a name!" I say staring at him irritated. "Fine whatever you say 'princess'" I elbow him in the stomach again. "Alright, alright i'll stop, just please quit elbowing me that kinda hurts." He says trying to reason. I smirk at him then look down at my mom, Silas carries me the rest of the way down stair. "Ok you can put me down now." I say wiggling out of his grip, I don't even move a little. "Why don't you like this?" He smirks trying to lean in for another kiss. "Not even a little bit" I say covering his mouth. "Put me down, please." He drops my feet and i'm standing. "Pleasure to be at your service." he says grinning, and before i could punch him in the arm he turns into a bird and perches on my shoulder. "So the letter." he says flapping over to mom and taking it out of her hands, then flies over to the couch and drops it. "You might want to sit down when you read it." he says hooping down next to it. I hesitantly make my way to the couch and before I sit down I look over at my mom, she says nothing then walks into the kitchen. I sit down on the couch and Silas hands me the letter, I grab it but my hands are shaking, I can barely hold it. "It's going to be fine." I hear Silas say right before he transforms. He puts his hand on mine and looks me in the eyes. "You need this clarification, you need to know who you really are." he say, It's as if he can read my mind just by looking me in the eyes, I nod. Then open the letter:

' Dear EmilY,

I'm sorry, but you probably are wondering why I've never been in the picture. This all may seem a bit to overwhelming for you and I understand if you don't want to read this, but you need to know why I did this. I am truly and deeply sorry first off, for not being there for you especially when you needed me the most. There were times when I was pregnant with you that I never wanted to give you away, dreading it in my mind, but I knew it was the only way to keep you safe.

I'm sure you're wondering what i'm talking about just ask Silas all the questions you need to be answered.' I look up at Silas with tears in my eyes. "This is from my mother.." He wipes the tears out of my eyes. "Keep reading I'll answer whatever you want me to after." I nod. ' But first i need to tell you something, I hope by now you have at least an idea of what a half breed is? If not, It's a creature or animal that is crossed with another creature or animal. I know that right now a story is the last this you want to hear, but I guess I better make up for the one's I didn't get to tell you when you were a child.

Once upon a time there was this young girl who was apart of a very important clan of vampires. For a very long time she was never allowed to go into the outside world. But one day this young girl decided to go beyond the wall,right before she climbed over it she was stopped by one of the guardians, a tengu. He took her back to her room, before he left she asked him his name , Talaos, the name of the first tengu she had ever meet. After that she would call out to the Tengu for him to keep her company and over time a forbidden relationship started to occur. Every night the tengu would sneak up to her room and lay with her, watching the stars. When they got older they understood what they were doing was going to be shunned upon, that night they became one. They kept this a secret from everyone and the girl started to get morning sickness. Everyone in the clan slowly start to suspect something when the tengu was caught by hr room. That night the fled, the tengu was wanted for kidnapping and could not ever be seen near the wall, so they spent their days on the run. They pretended to be apart of the human community believing that the could live that was for the rest of their lives.

They were wrong the night her water broke the clan came to attack, once again they tried to leave without getting caught when the tengu went to protect her, he was killed in an instant. The girl realized that she had to do everything she could to protect this baby. She ran out in the road and stopped this 1970's Chevrolet camaro. hey started to take her to the hospital and couldn't make it, the baby Emily Ann Smith, was born. She made the people drop her off at the entrance of the hospital and ran. She knew these people that were really nice and had been trying to have a baby girl for as long as she could remember. She knew they would kill this baby if they ever saw it so she did what no mother had ever wished to do before. She left the baby on the front porch and ran. Leaving a letter telling the baby who she was.

You Emily are that baby you are half vampire and half tengu, Silas is here with you know I know because I've asked him to watch over you. Trust him he is one of the best. Right know I don't have time to explain to you what happened after. But i want you to know that......'

I can't see a thing, frantically trying to wipe my eyes to read the rest I notice there is a red splatter on the rest. "W...What happened!?" I shout. "What was it!!??" I yell at the paper, flipping it around to look for the rest. Silas grabs my head and pulls me into his arms. "Shhh, It's ok. Everything is alright." he says caressing my head, "I'm here and it's ok."
