A Bite

Chapter 9

I walk out the door when Keith's truck pulls up. "Hey how did your mom react when you went back in late lastnight?" Keith asked "well first she grounded me for a month and she didn't believe me about the vampire thing I guess it's good to keep it that way though." We drive through the roads, not saying much. It's the beginning of sophomore year,and he already has a truck. I guess because he got held back. When we arrived at the school we both got out and walked a few feet before he asked "how are you doing with all the people?" I looked at him "fine I guess I just get really hungry when I'm here." He stares at me for a second then speaks "Are you hungry now?" At that moment I felt really awkward because I Knew what he was asking. "A little bit." I actually haven't drank blood in two weeks, I was starving! He grabbed my hand then led me around the school. There is one part of the school that doesn't have cameras. When we got there he pulled me close and leaned his head back. "I... I don't want to. I can't." It was so tempting. "Please I want you to. I know it will be easier to concentrate in school." I concentrated and brought his head down to my mouth, kissed his cheek, and click, my fangs were out, then stuck my teeth into his neck.

After those few minutes with him I felt so much better! I could focus on everything. When class was let out I was on my way to mr. blue eyes locker when I saw Amber talking to him. I felt happy that they were friends but when I got closer they were kissing. My best friend and my crush wre kissing. I froze not knowing what to do then fear was overcome with anger! I ran up to them and cry out "what do you think you're doing!?" They broke apart amber said "oh were you guys together?" She took one step back. "It wasn't me she came over here and started talking then it just happened. It didn't mean anything." Keith tried the explain

"Not a big deal?! Oh like when we're together it's not a big deal?" Amber asked annoyed "I thought we were together up until the point when I saw you," she pointed to me "biting him behind the school!" I blew up in anger at her. "He was mine first and you wouldn't be who you are right now if it wasn't for me! I can't believe you would stab me in the back like that! And you," I turned to Keith "I trusted you!" I could see that cut through him like a knife but I didn't care. I turned around and walked away.

"wait em..." but I was already gone.
