The rest of the skype call went fast, too fast for Frank's taste. But that was okay, every part of it was lovely. To listen to Gerard's voice and hear him make stupid jokes to make Frank feel better. He didn't even know what Gerard looked like. But he sounded young, probably his age. That made Frank feel happier, for reasons unknown to him.
They laughed and smiled, Frank's tears eventually stopping as he listened to Gerard speak to him as if he was the only one who mattered in the world.
"Thanks, Gee, this," He paused, gathering his words, ", this made me feel a lot better." He smiled as he lay, facing the screen. Gerard couldn't see the smile that was on Frank's face but that didn't matter. You could hear the happiness in his voice. His eyes were still a little puffy from the tears that had trickled earlier but now they were gone and he didn't need to worry about them flowing down his face anymore.
"It's no problem, Frankie. It was nice to hear your voice." Gerard's voice came through again, slightly glitching due to the signal failing on them a little but it didn't make too much difference or worry either of them.
"Your voice is pretty." Frank suddenly commented, not being able to stop the words coming out his mouth. He sucked in his breath quickly, gulping, "Holy crap that came out badly-"
"Yours is cute." Gerard's voice came through firm but soft and with a hint of affection. A blush broke out on Frank's face that he hid even though Gerard could not see him.
If Gerard could see him, he'd recognize him immediately.
Gerard has seen Frank before, that day in fact.
< A Few Hours Earlier... >
Gerard pushed his red hair out of his face as he filed out of the classroom. He yawned too, that lecture had made him physically want to commit. It was so boring and not worth his time. They knew all of what they had been taught.
Outside, everyone else in that class was just loitering about and chatting, some going over to lockers that were conveniently in that hallway.
He sighed, putting his bag over his shoulder and standing with the crowd, standing awkwardly since everyone around him wasn't moving but he didn't want to appear rude and push through everyone.
In the distance he could hear someone, no, two people running through the corridors and it sounded like they were getting closer. It as probably some younger students having a race or just being idiots. Hopefully they wouldn't fall over but if they did it would probably be fun to smile at or laugh at.
He then frowned and listened closer but before he could think too indepth he felt himself getting pulled back as the group of people he was huddled with split down the middle. There was a space between his side of the corridor and the other side, he frowned, looking down the corridor and eyes widening a little.
Before his mind could process what was happening a short black haired male who was rocketing through the group at high speed. The younger kid's breaths were ragged as he sprinted. Gerard turned to watch him run away when a broad shouldered, muscular male chased after the small kid.
Gerard frowned a little and looked after them as people began walking away, shrugging off the event. He heard a few yells, something resembling, "Leave me the fuck alone!" but thought nothing of it. It wasn't his problem after all.
