Frank lay back in bed, yawning as he held his phone. The call was still on but now they simply stayed in comfortable silence, not speaking to one another, both lost in their separate trains of thought.
Frank's breathing was soft, barely audible against the background noise of his house and the skype call.
He felt comforted, knowing that Gerard was real and that he cared. That he wasn't alone in the world. That just made him feel safer and more content. It gave him security.
They stayed in silence for a few more minutes before Frank softly spoke, as if he were speaking to an injured animal as to not alarm it or scare it away.
"Gee? I'm tired." Frank decided not to call Gerard by his full name, 'Gee' was so much easier and nicer to say and listen to being spoken.
There was a shuffle on the other end of the skype call and a yawn and the sound of things being moved. Gerard was probably also in bed. There was a sleep groan before he heard Gerard reply to him.
"Huh, oh yea, Frankie. I'm really tired too, I'm going to sleep probably." There was a pause in the angel's voice, "Do you want me to end it?"
Frank's heart sank, he didn't want the skype call to end but that was okay. They could always skype some other time after all. It wasn't like this was the first and last time it would ever happen. They'd skype some other time, Frank reassured himself. Gerard wasn't going to disappear and leave him after all. They were friends. Friends don't leave each other. They stay by each other's side, steal each other's food, piss each other off and be silly together.
"I don't mind, Gee, I can end it." Frank responded as he curled up, hugging into his pillow. Something pulled at his chest, a dull ache that craved for something. He wanted something, he needed something but he couldn't pin point what it was.
"Alright, Frankie. We'll skype tomorrow. okay? Love ya." Gerard's voice raised a bit at the end, as if he was asking a question but there was also humour, a laugh that brightened Frankie's mood but it felt like a punch to his chest. The ache grew worse, it was longing for something.
"Yea," Frank smiled, ", Goodnight, Gee. I love ya too. Night." Frank then ended the call and let his phone slip onto the floor. The smile was gone from his face.
His heart tugged and pulled painfully, moaning lowly at him in agony. His chest was on fire, but a low one that burnt away slowly over time. It ached, it hurt but it didn't kill him. He winced and curled up tightly, knuckles turning white.
It hurt badly, it wouldn't stop till he got what he wanted.
But Frank didn't know what he wanted.
He craved something, he craved attention, affection and love. He craved the feeling of being valued and treasured and being told he was worth it.
But a part of him also knew, at the back of his mind, he craved Gerard Way.
