~Levy~
“Are you ready to cooperate?” Dax asked, his face so close to mine as he smirked at me. “Aren't you tired of all this resisting?”
I didn't reply, being too focused on staying conscious. After the third jolt of energy, I had made the mistake of passing out. When I was awakened with icy water and another—stronger—jolt to back it up, I vowed not to do it twice.
“Levy, dear, you look exhausted,” he chuckled, grabbing my face. “How about we stop all of this, and work together? I'll even let you go back to Fairy Tail if you just tell me what magic that book contains.”
“I—I don't...know,” I breathed.
Dax released my face and gave me my—was it sixth? Seventh?—jolt of energy. As I screamed in agony, he paced the room and sighed in exasperation. “Why are you doing this to yourself? It could be so easy!”
“You've obviously never met a Fairy Tail wizard,” I chuckled, though it was more of a gasp. “We aren't the easiest group of wizards.” My vision was beginning to fail me again, so I shook my head to try and clear it. Levy, stay awake! He can't go on forever. Eventually, his magic energy will run out and he'll have to give it a rest.
“Then perhaps I should get rid of all of them!” He snapped, coming closer. “Maybe you will talk to me after a few of your friends die.”
“No!” I pleaded. “Leave them out of this!”
“Then talk!” He shouted. His green eyes were shining brightly with anger, and he looked rather frightening as he glared down at me.
“No.”
“Nathaniel!” He snapped, never looking away from me.
“Yes, master Dax?” Nathaniel entered the room, stopping mid-step when he saw me. He looked almost angry when he turned his attention back to his guild master. “What can I do for you?”
“Go to Magnolia, and bring one of those Fairy Tail wizards back here.”
“No!” I struggled against my chains, causing Dax to smirk.
“How about that dragon slayer?” My reaction seemed to have been the confirmation he needed, because he nodded and looked at Nathaniel. “Go capture that dragon slayer—the one who's fond of the girl. Maybe watching him die will open her up a little.”
“Leave Gajeel alone!” I shouted, trying uselessly to free myself.
“See? You've already started talking. Now we know his name,” Dax grinned.
“Please, just don't bring them into this. I'll—I'll tell you what the book said.” I hung my head in defeat, seeing no other options. I'm so sorry, everyone. I don't want Dax to have this magic, but I can't let him hurt Gajeel. The thought of Gajeel being forced to endure any of the jolts of energy which I had been forced to made my stomach turn.
“There's a good girl,” he said, nodding in approval. “Nathaniel, go get the book.”
“Right.” Again, I was left alone with Dax, who began walking around the room aimlessly.
“Why do you want this magic?” I asked him.
“Why does one seek new magic?” He asked, glancing at me. “For power. Zeref's followers lost their lives in the creation of this magic, so you know it has to be incredibly powerful.”
“You're already powerful. Why do you need it?”
“One can never be too powerful.”
