It was dark and cold, lonesome and frightening. A rippling whine echoed through the darkness as the smallest hint of light began to peak through. Jungkook could hear his heart beating rhythmically against his own ears, and could feel the warmth of a nearby fire. His nose picked up various scents around him and his ears perked at the stream of hushed murmurs. Another whine rippled through and he noticed his wolf was trying to wake him from his unconscious state. The smell of chamomile was strong beside him as he tried to open his eyes. He felt as if he had been sleeping for centuries, his body fighting his need to wake up. A muffled groan escaped his dry lips as he tried to move his stiffened body. A small gasp pulled him awake and his eyes snapped open as he tried to find the familiar source. Hazily he looked around the dimly lit room, the curtain was dimming out the brightness from outside, yet the window was open slightly. A chilly breeze swept in as he turned his head slowly around the room. His eyes met with tear rimmed warm ones, and before he could manage to do anything he was feeling the weight on top of him.

His body screamed and a muffled groan escaped him as he tried to adjust to the person squeezing the air out of him. Jimin's scent instantly made an effect on him and he instinctively pulled the omega closer to him. Despite the pain, he sat up slightly and pressed his nose into the crook of Jimin's neck. His sickly sweet scent made him hum happily and he dropped a simple kiss onto the smooth skin. The moment lasted well for a few minutes until Jimin sniffled and pulled away while rubbing at his tear stained cheeks. Jungkook reached forward, his hand wiping the wetness away from the reddened blossoms.

"I was so scared." Jimin's voice was so soft, delicate and painful. The emotions painting his features were enough to let Jungkook know that the omega had been worried sick.

He finally took the time to look around, noticing he was in the infirmary. Bandages and herbs were set up on a small table beside him. And the low heat of the fire made him realize that a few days worth of wood had burned. He dropped his gaze around him, seeing his hand bandaged and as he moved to stretch he felt the fabric around his torso as well.

"How long have I been like this?" His voice was rough and dry, his eyes wandered once again and settled on the small glass next to a pitcher of water.

Jimin hurried off the bed and filled the glass, his movements careful as he brought the cup towards Jungkook's lips. He only realized how thirsty he was when the omega turned to fill the glass once again for him. His lips no longer felt like dried out sand, and his body seemed to hum in satisfaction.

"It's been 13 days since you collapsed. Your injuries were severe, father had to work with two other healers to patch you up before you lost too much blood. I haven't left since that night."

Jungkook's eyes widened, 13 days was far more than he imagined. It didn't seem like it had been that long, it must have been worse than he was expecting. With a long sigh he fell back against the pillow, his mind thrumming from thinking too much about the time he lost. He felt the bed dip beside him, and a warm hand brushed through his hair carefully.

"I can't remember much." he admitted as he opened his eyes once again and found Jimin comforting ones.

Jimin smiled slightly, his hand continuing as he spoke, "The pack is safe, Shiro is dead. The wolves that managed to survive from his pack were chased far down east where they fled through the valley. You kept your promise alpha."

The last words made his heart jump, his wolf snarling in affirmation. His chest felt slightly relieved, the worry leaving him instantly and allowing him to relax again on the bed. Jungkook grabbed his omegas hand and brought it to his lips, leaving a kiss against his knuckles.

"A lot happened while you recovered. The pack finished repairing and rebuilding, and there weren't any deaths, only a few injuries here and there. But most importantly..."

Jungkook looked up at Jimin, waiting for him to finish. He felt a bit impatient when Jimin only smiled down at him. The omega guided his hand under his sweater until it was splayed over his tummy. Jungkook felt slightly, his fingers softly caressing the skin before his eyes snapped up. He moved his hand up and down carefully, feeling the way his fingers followed the small curve of a bump. Ignoring the pain in his shoulder, he pulled the fabric up with his other hand and stared intently at the bump that had formed. A swell of emotions rushed through him, and he felt warm all over as he kept feeling. The bump was small, tiny but it was there. That was his pup growing inside his mate. His wolf preened in adoration and he once again ignored the spikes of pain that rose as he bent down to pepper kisses over the small bump. Jimin giggled slowly as he watched him, his hand patting his head affectionately. Despite almost facing death, he was alive and witnessing the growth of his pup.
