Brave (Sequel to Beside You)

Chapter Twenty

Ebony's POV
I knew the best place to go. I had to arrange it with the 5SOS management team before the day, but luckily they agreed. They also agreed to keep it a surprise, so when we all got into a car provided by management, they wanted to know where we were going. Of course I pretended not to know and I think I pulled it off pretty well. They were all under the illusion that we were going to spend the day shopping, something we didn't need a car for. What I had planned was so much better then that. We were going to a theme park a little outside of Illinois. There were so many different rides and lots of other attractions including an arcade. I had been there a few time. We were going to have the best day, and hopefully I would even get Ashton smiling again, at least for a few hours.

We arrived outside the theme park and the guys eyes widened and smiles spread across each of their faces even Ashton's. They all cheered as we all clambered out of the car and headed into the park.
'Oh my God, this is incredible!' Luke shouted, with excitement.
'Let's have some fun guys' Michael exclaimed, heading straight for the water rides first.
All the kids were still at school so it was relatively quiet and the queues weren't too long. We were soon at the front of the cue and about to get on the ride. I didn't want to be sat on my own so Ashton sat next to me. As soon as the ride started I was regretting my decision. It was a freezing cold day and getting wet suddenly seemed like a day idea. Sure enough by the time the ride had finished we were all soaking wet. Ashton and Calum had left their coats in the car so headed off to get them. Michael noticed I was shivering so came over and gave me a hug to keep me warm, while we waited for the others. I couldn't wait to go on the other rides so I could dry off.

Ashton and Calum soon appeared back from the car that had been parked by Management before he then joined us. Management had decided they would skip the rides because they weren't very keen and just wondered around the theme park to find a place that sells coffee. Ashton saw that I was cold and offered me his jacket.
I insisted that he didn't have to, I didn't want him to catch a cold before this evenings show. However he told me that if I didn't take it that he wouldn't wear it and it would go to waste. So after much arguing I took the coat, and I was quite thankful for it too. We decided we would skip the rides for a bit and went into the arcade section of the theme park where we would be able to warm up. We stayed in there for about 2 hours. Luke and Michael tried showing me how to play the slot machines, I was still confused when they finished explain so they just showed me what buttons to push. It was me and Calum against Michael and Ashton on the air hockey, Luke decided he would be the referee. Me and Calum ended up winning, mostly thanks to Calum who was quite competitive. I raced Luke on a motorbike game and of course he won. Then it was me vs. Ashton on the dance mats. Ashton kept tripping over his own feet and after two rounds (and many years of experience) I won. He wasn't happy and promised me a rematch one day, which put a smile on my face. I then bet that he couldn't win a stuffed bear on the crane machines. Of course he proved me wrong and ended up winning a stuffed Olaf which he gave to me. After two hours we had dried off enough to continue on the rides.
