Heading Out

ALAINA'S P.O.V.
I wake up to a knock on the front door so I run over and fix my hair a bit with the mirror right beside it. When I open the door I see Piers with a big smile on his face.

"Morning gorgeous are you ready to leave today?" This week has passed by so fast and me and Piers have gotten a lot closer than we were before. Me and Dustin how ever are in a fight because he got mad when I told him I was going with them on the run for a few months. Yeah I understand that's a lot to take in but he is still mad about it and I told him when we got back from the jewelry store a week ago.

"Yeah just let me getting ready, grab my bag... and a quick breakfast." He laughed when I said the quick breakfast  part and I took off toward the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then I ran in my room and grabbed some clothes to put on then put my hair up in a ponytail. Once I was ready I grabbed my bag and an apple.

"An apple?" Piers asked looking at me with a smile.

"Heck yeah this is like my favorite snack ever. I love apples."

"Well I guess that's a good thing."

"Yeah it is now lets go." I say taking a bite of my apple.

"Yes ma'am." We both walked out the door with our bags on our backs and headed for the gate.

"Hey what are you guys doing over here?" Piers asked looking at Alice and Jake once we made it to the gate.

"Just wanted to say goodbye and good luck out there." Jake said giving me a hug and then looked at Piers and he pulled Jake into a hug not caring what he would do. He was hesitant at first but then he eventually hugged him back.

"Aww are you guys actually being nice to each other?" Alice said making them break apart which caused me and her to bust out laughing.

"They are something special."

"Yeah they truly are." Once we finished laughing Piers gave Alice a hug and I did the same when they were done.

"Here I want you to both take one of these." Alice put something in my bag while Jake put something in Piers' bag.

"What is it?"

"Its the cure to all of the viruses. Only use it when you need it, the others already have theirs but I only gave it to the people that I truly care about." Me and Piers looked at each other with a smile and then looked back at Alice.

"Where did you get this? Wait when did you get this?" I asked confused.

"On my nineteenth birthday from my dad. He gave me it as a gift."

"Oh wow I guess he was actually looking out for you a little bit there."

"Yeah but then again he always tracks me down and then sends people after me."

"...True." She laughed a bit but then the guy leading our group came and told us that it was time to go.

"Well I guess we'll see you guys in a few months."

"Okay and please call as soon as you can I don't want to lose you guys."

"We will Alice I promise."

"Good and please be careful I know you too and you always protect everyone and try to keep them alive but please try and focus on yourself's a little more these next few months. Sorry if that sounds like I only want you guys to make it out of everyone but its true." I laughed when she said that then I gave Alice one more hug and we headed out.

"Alright listen up. We have a pretty good amount of people going with us this time so we are going to split up into teams. Okay I need Reid, Marco, Finn, Riley, Sherry, and Jack with me. Then I need Piers, Alaina, Dawson, Blake, Jason, Zach, and Jessica to be the other team."
