Edith put her ear to Lance's chest and held her breath waiting for his. Simone poured more leaf water into Lance and Monrs mouth hoping it would work. For several minutes nothing happened. The Ranger's bird kept flying in with more plants. Simone made the tea like antidote and administered the leaves to the wound, replacing them when their green hue was replaced with crimson blood. More minutes passed and none of them spoke until finally Lance's skin gained color and his breathing picked up.

"its working!" Tyler said.

Simone didn't look so relieved. Morn's body was still motionless. After a while Lance closed his eyes, his breathing steadied and the immediate danger seemed over. Morn stayed pale as the sun went down. Simone took that time to sew their wounds to keep them from bleeding. Tyler made camp with what they had. Edith stripped her shirt and changed it before the bugs started nibbling on her skin. They burned a strange smelling brush that sent billows of smoke into the air, keeping the incest's at bay. Edith had no appetite. She didn't feel like eating and couldn't get the taste of blood from her mouth no matter how much she spat. They heard a few splashes a little ways off and before long The Ranger appeared before them at twilight. He carried a few lizards and a scrawny eel.

"Its not working on Morn" Edith jumped right to it.

"Give it time" The Ranger said.

"Time?! How much time?!" Edith asked.

The Ranger didn't speak. Edith got up and threw a punch. The Ranger dodged and she went at him again. He grabbed her hand and blocked her knee. Her movements were slow. He spun her around until her arm was twisted behind her back.

"We're lost aren't we?" Edith asked.

The Ranger didn't answer.

"Just say it, we all know." Edith growled. "we should have never come into this place. We won't last much longer."

"Edith don't say that" Tyler said.

"Its true!" Edith said.

"Just look at Morn, and Lance. Look at all of us. We don't have enough food, no supplies, hardly any water and we're lost in a wasteland looking for a place that probably doesn't exist. We're finished." Edith said. The Ranger let her go and untwisted her arm.

"You're starting to sound like Morn" Tyler said.

"Yes well he's not here right now to remind us." Edith said. "I hate to say it but he's probably right"

"He's not right. It does exist." Nyam said.

"Oh. Sure." Edith said sarcastically. "and you know how to get their?" Edith asked.

Nyam said nothing.

"And this little hooded, inhuman man." Edith's anger rose "Tell me Nyam, if you trust him so much tell me, does he know where we're going?" Edith asked.

"Edith leave him alone, we're all tired. Besides didn't you get angry when Morn was saying the same thing" Tyler said. Tyler understood where she was coming from but his suspicion of The Ranger's intent was over. Whoever or whatever the Ranger was mattered not. They would get no information out of him and he made it clear. All they needed to know was that the Ranger was on their side.

She ignored him.

"Its complicated" Nyam finally said.

Edith shook her head and laid back.

"Its just one horror to another. I don't think we can take much more of this" Edith said.

"Then leave" The ranger said.
