Five.
Craig had walked into the classroom with a firm tired look on his face. He had been overthinking things, and it had definitely showed in the dark rings around his eyes. He normally didn't get a lot of sleep, but last night was even less.
His classmates glanced at him as he trudged towards his seat, dropping his bag and dropping himself on the table. Miss Thatcher could only give a small smile in response to Craig's tired appearance.
Craig sighed deeply and got out his stuff needed for the class.
"Hey" Ryan greeted, a smile latching onto his perfect skin. Craig stared at it for a while before scribbling down a note.
"Why did you kiss me?" Craig mumbled afterwards. Ryan thought for a moment, perching his arms on the desk.
"I don't know, you were just being ridiculously cute at that point of time." He answers, truthfully. Craig stared at the brown orbs of Ryan's eyes. Ryan stared back. Craig sighed. The silence between them was hollowed out by an unrecognizable voice to Craig.
"Sup, New Boy" the voice said, smiling. Craig blinked. The person owning the voice was a person with crazy black hair, brown cute freckles and vibrant blue, indigo eyes which sparked whenever he smiled. Craig could only stare at that bright ray of sunshine."Er hey....?" Craig said.
"Nathan Baxter, my friends calls me Nate" He said. Craig nodded. Nathan glanced at Ryan who was trying hard to ignore their conversation. Ryan knew Nathan, only openly pan sexual person in their school. He was popular and charming and Ryan even had a slight thing for guys like him. Sadly, Nathan was always the top in his relationships, and Ryan wasn't going to risk his anal's virginity or become more submissive because of that cute freckled boy."I see you've befriended Pretty boy over there?" Nathan grinned. Craig nodded.
"Mr Baxter, stop talking to Mr Jensen. This is a classroom for learning, not chatting. " Miss Thatcher said to Kenny. Nathan nodded but slipped a small strip of paper on Craig's desk and winked at him, leaning back on his seat. The dark haired boy glanced at the paper to realize that it was Nathan's number. Craig stared at it, a wisp of blush flying across his face.
Of course Nathan would give him his number, assuming that he played for the same team. Well Craig didn't exactly know that yet. But still, he still is confused, but that didn't mean he couldn't find out. Maybe Nathan could be the person that would make him realize.
Craig slipped the paper in his pocket and continued listening to the lesson. Ryan prodded Craig and asked him if he had a highlighter, which Craig pulled out instantly.
–
Craig decided to store Nathan's number instantly after school as he walked to the alleyways. He hadn't seen Ryan throughout the period of school, and he wondered why. Maybe he had something to do.
"Hi Craig" said Ryan once he had entered the Alleyways. Craig nodded, walking towards him.
"Er, um. Wanna hang out somewhere else?" Ryan says, excitement catching his voice. Craig shrugged and immediately gets pulled from his arm by Ryan. They head up through meadows of frosted grass, and the winters sun slowly setting. Once they had reached their destination, Ryan still was grasping unto Craig's hand.He lets go quickly before clearing his throat.
Soon after, it started snowing heavily. Craig hadn't seen snow before, because for his entire life he had lived in Malibu and the only experience, if you could call it an experience was on tv. Ryan had decided it was best to hang out underneath the tree. By the time it had reached 10 minutes of talking the snow had already began to pile up.
"I had never touched snow before" whispered an awestruck Craig.
Ryan glanced at him with slight bemusement.
"Well today's is today you make some new memories. I'll teach you how to make snow angels" Ryan said smiling smugly. Craig nodded. Ryan stood up and demonstrated, falling on the soft snow. Craig copied, chilling from the coldness of the white snow. They played around in the snow for a bit, until it gradually got into a snow ball fight between each other.Craig got too competitive and accidentally threw a ball of snow in Ryan's face. The shock on his face and the fact that it was unexpected instantly made Craig laugh, for the first time. It wasn't that funny, well not to Ryan but still the pretty laughter circulated through the area.
Ryan could only watch in a charm. This was the first time Craig had laughed, including smiled, and Ryan couldn't say that he was in love with his laugh. Something about it being so contagious, so beautiful and free, made Ryan want to....throw up with all the unexpected cuteness.
Craig stopped and wiped a tear in his eye, now making more snowballs to play with. The continued until they were tired, and sat down under the tree again, watching the the beautiful sunset. Craig even forgot to hide his hair, which adorably sprawled everywhere as the wind blew.
"Today was fun" said Craig. Ryan nodded, agreeing.
"I know, but I've still got wet snow on my face" Ryan pointed out. Craig chuckles, reminiscing. They continued watching, and Craig didn't realize that he had totally forgotten about Nathan at that point.Ryan gave a heavy wistful sigh, swiping through his hair with hand.
The snow was slowly melting, and Ryan didn't even notice that his hands were very cold. But Craig realized it, and slipped his hand into Ryan's, discreetly, warming it up. Ryan smile at him warmly. They eventually left, with one with a small smile on their face, the other with a smile in his heart.
