Bella woke up the next morning with dread piling in her stomach. The ceremony was last night which means today is the running. Today is the day where Bella has to out run all the un-mated horny male wolves while she was in her human form. Again. If all goes according to plan she'll have to do this 8 more times. The thought of her probability to make it out unmated sent Bella hurtling towards the conjoining bathroom and emptying her stomach out into the toilet. She wasn't getting out of this mating system scot free.

She should just run away and go find some nice human and fall in love. Ha. That could never work. Why did werewolves have to have mates anyway? The humans didn't have them and they're overpopulating the Earth so that's clearly not the reasoning.

After brushing her teeth and splashing cold water on her face, Bella got ready. She pulled on her black athletic leggings and a tight tank top. She didn't want to risk any of her clothing getting snagged on a branch. She pulled her hair into a tight ponytail and quickly braided it and tied it off once again. She placed a headband with flecks of green on it in her hair to hold back any flyaways that may come out during the running.

Looking back at her still sleeping roommates, Bella chuckled and quickly tied her lucky multi-colored Adidas sneakers on. She kept the rest of her clothes dark to try to help blend in with the forest, but she couldn't help that her lucky shoes are colorful. They are worn down and dirty though from running across all kinds of terrain for years.

Bella made her way down to the kitchens and made her self a peanut butter and banana sandwich and managed to snag a strawberry yogurt. The combination of peanut butter and bananas really weren't her favorite concoction but she knew it was good pre running food. She ate at a slow pace as she watched wolves trickle into the dining hall.

She scoffed as she noticed almost all the wolves up at this hour were all male. They eyed her as they went by but Bella just kept her focused on her food. After she finished she brought her plate back into the kitchen and rinsed it in the sink.

She made her way outside and breathed in the crisp morning air that left a dull sting in her chest. She gazed into the distance as the sun was only just rising. With one more deep breath, Bella took off on a light jog. She jogged all the way to the starting point of the running and then started doing her dynamic stretching.

As she was stretching a familiar scent filtered through the air. She paused while she was on one foot with her knee pulled to her chest. After a few moments passed and she didn't hear the normal obnoxious voice that followed, she put her foot down. The scent grew stronger and a pleasurable chill ran up her spine. She quickly turned around but the scent vanished and nobody was there.

"Hey, stranger." A voice called from behind her. Bella quickly turned back around and felt a little dizzy from all the spinning she was doing. Cassandra was standing with athletic leggings and a cut off T-shirt. The blue laces on her sneakers matched not only her shirt but also her eyes.

"Cute outfit," Bella said while squinting and raising her hand up to shield her burning pupils from the offending sun. Cassandra laughed and gave her a little twirl to show off her clothes.

"Isaac loves me in blue." She said dreamily and caused the smile to fade from Bella's face for a moment before she quickly put it back on. If Cassandra is happy and met her mate then Bella has no right to ruin her happiness with her own pessimistic opinions.

Cassandra came over and sat down next to Bella who was still standing up. Cassandra leaned back on her hands and stared at the sky contently. Bella looked around and found more wolves trickling into the field and decided to take a seat with Cassandra.
