"Hello, Luna," Valenthia responded, not at all put out by Bella's meek greeting. The women before her seemed to radiate confidence.

"Oh, please, just call me Bella. I'm not really into the whole Luna idea." Bella joked trying to lighten the situation. Valenthia laughed a bit, but Bella thought how it true that statement actually was. Her being a Luna was not ideal.

"Well, that's good," Valenthia said with a wave of her hand. Hang on. Good? The blonde must have noticed her confused expression. "You know because you might not be Luna for much longer."

Bella stared at her unblinking. What? Valenthia seemed to notice no recognition flashed across Bella's face. Her own features morphed into light horror.

"Oh my- you didn't know." She placed her hand against her forehead and slowly dragged it down to over her mouth.

"Didn't know what?" Bella asked as her eyes narrowed. What was going on here?

"It's really not my place to tell-" Valenthia tried to get off the hook but Bella's hard gaze forced her to spill her guts. "Well, it's just that... There's some rumors going around that Lucian is looking for a Replacement Luna. I didn't really believe them myself, but after the last full moon, I heard him talking about it. I don't know what happened, but he seemed rather displeased."

Bella felt like her world came to a halt for a moment. Replacement Luna? Was that even allowed? She blushed a bit at the reminder of the full moon incident, but what the hell? Who does he think he is? He's just going to replace her? Granted, she doesn't want to be his Luna anyways, but still. Bella was great! He should obviously want her. Besides, why does he keep talking about marking her then? That no good son of-

"Please don't tell him I told you." Valenthia pleaded. She seemed so nervous and her breathing was coming out ragged.

"I won't," Bella said and gently placed her hand on the girl's shoulder. "Thank you, Valenthia. I'm glad you told me the truth." Bella felt like her heart was beating too strongly. It was getting painful in her chest. How could he do this to her? Was his plan to mark her so no one else could have her, but then get rid of her?

"You can just call me Val. Valenthia's a bit of a mouthful." Bella stared back at the blonde and realized she just zoned out with her hands still on her shoulders. Bella quickly pulled her arms back down and gave Valethia a smile.

"Well, Val, I hope we run into each other again."

"Here, put your number in my phone and maybe we can get lunch or something some time. I'm here to listen if you ever need to vent." Bella smiled and quickly put her number in Valenthia's phone. Hopefully, she'll find her phone soon so Val doesn't think she's ignoring her calls.

Once Bella handed back her phone the two stood there is a slightly awkward silence. Bella felt like she basically just said goodbye to the girl and yet here she was still waiting for her mate to come and relieve the babysitter. Bella frowned at herself. She shouldn't think of Valenthia like that. The girl had more important things to do than to watch over her but her mate stuck them together. She's just taking her anger out on her.

"I guess those rogues are more trouble than we thought," Valenthia muttered after a few more moments of silence.

"What rogues?" Bella asked while unconsciously tilting her head to the side. Valenthia is like a bucket of information today. Or maybe she always is. Bella did just meet her.

"Oh! I just figured Lucian would have told you why you were here." Yes, Bella could see why a normal person would assume Lucian would have the decency to communicate with the person he's dragging around with him.
