I stood in front of my mirror adjusting my earrings. I really lacked jewelery tonight. I would’ve had a necklace, but I couldn’t find anything satisfactory. I sighed. This was as good as it was going to get. The doorbell rang, making me jump. I walked to the door slowly, to put off the moment as long as possible and also because of my annoying heels that Caroline forced me into. When I finally opened the door, a gorgeous Kol stood there smiling. His eyes traveled up and down my body, making me feel very uncomfortable.

“My eyes are up here, you know.”

Kol laughed.

“Your personality doesn’t suit the look darling.”

I narrowed my eyes at him, making him laugh even more.

“Shut up Kol.”

He did stop laughing as I asked, but he couldn’t keep the grin off his face.

“You do look absolutely amazing though Beth, all the other girls will be outshined by your radiance.”

I smiled.

“Stop trying Kol.”

His smile fell and he looked at his feet.

“You’ve never done this before have you?” I asked him. He hesitantly shook his head. This made me nervous. He’d never kept a girl long enough to even take her to a dance.

“Well, the dance starts in half an hour so we better be going.”

He led me out front, where a white limo was parked. I gasped.

“Is this for us?”

He regained his infamous smirk.

“See anyone else around darling?”

I rolled my eyes. I was never one to do this, but Kol seemed to bring out that reaction in me.

“Do you like it?” He asked.

I looked at him to see if he was kidding. But no, he was actually sincere.

“Are you kidding? Yes! I’ve never been in a limo before!” I was actually excited.

“Well, I’m glad your first time is with me.” He opened the door for me. I stepped inside; it was awesome, with white leather seats that stretched around the edges. There was also a bottle of champagne. Kol slid in after me. We got settled when he reached for the champagne.

“Want some darling?”

“Please.”

He poured us each a glass.

“To high school dances and music classes.” He raised his glass and we toasted.

“Why music classes?”

He just smiled at me. I shook my head, before sipping at my drink, but Kol, on the other hand, downed it in one gulp.

“You are so going to get drunk.”

“Takes a lot for me darling.”
