**Sorry I haven’t updated for ages! I have been sooooo busy as we just had exams... Hopefully I will be updating more as holidays approach! –-Jade**
We arrived at the Mikealson mansion quite late, and were greeted by Klaus, who looked like he was itching to say something.
“Hey Beth, I’m just going to put my stuff upstairs. Do you want to came and help me?”
“Sure Bekah.”
I walked in the door, leaving my lot of shopping just inside it. Bekah had used her vamp speed up the stairs, so, sighing, I slowly started making my way there before Klaus caught my arm.
“What do you want Klaus?”
He smirked at me.
“I was actually wondering if you would accompany me to the ball we are holding next week.”
A low growl came from the doorway. I looked over to see Kol.
“Hand’s off brother.”
“Nope.” Klaus clutched my arm tighter. Crap.
Kol lunged at Klaus, tackling him in a way that would make him a star on the football field. They were on the ground brawling.
“Stop it. You’re both so immature.” Rebekah shouted, having come down when she heard the ruckus. Of course, they didn’t. Suddenly, a blurr of speed and then who I assume to be Elijah was standing in between them, pushing them apart with apparent ease. He was really quite attractive, and he didn’t have the arrogant air that Kol and Klaus had.
“Really? Can I not leave you alone for five minutes without you trying to rip each other’s throats out?”
They stopped going for each other and Elijah stepped back. If looks could kill I think all three of them would be dead by now.
“We were just having a bit of fun brother. No harm in that.” Klaus said, smirking.
Elijah ignored him.
“And you must be the lovely Bethany. I have heard all about you. My name is Elijah.”
He took my hand and kissed it, making me blush. Damn you cheeks.
“Nice to meet you.”
Kol waltzed over,
“Now brother, I didn’t expect you to sink so low as to try and steal my girlfriend. I already have enough trouble with Klaus.”
“Girlfriend?” Elijah looked at me quizzically.
“Friend.” I said, glaring at Kol, though he just smirked back at me.
By this point Klaus and Bekah had disappeared, obviously bored by the banter that was taking place.
“Well then. Since you are only a friend of Kol, would you allow me to take you to the ball myself? As friends, of course. I would very much like to get to know you.”
“I would love to.” I said, smirking at Kol who was behind Elijah, and he looked like he was about to explode. I knew I shouldn’t have said yes, but in truth, I would like to get to know Elijah, and Kol was continuously pissing me off, so why not the other way around for a change?
Elijah smiled at me, before dismissing himself, leaving me to the wrath of Kol.
“What! Why did you say yes? I thought you were going with me. You said no to Klaus. Why?”
“Nope. Firstly, even though you gave me an awesome necklace and took me to the dance, you technically haven’t asked me to be your girlfriend, so I am free. Secondly, if you have ears, you will have heard we are going as friends, not dates. I would quite like to get to know Elijah, so this is my opportunity. Goodbye.”
With that, I abruptly picked up my shopping and walked out the door. I walked down the path, looking back and the ginormous house as I did so. I started as I saw someone looking out the curtain at me. Who…? I shrugged. Never mind, not like someone could injure anyone in that house. Still, I had the feeling something was about to go wrong….
