I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face as I remembered the night before. That smile quickly left my face when I realized what the time was.
"Crap!"
I jumped out of bed and rushed to my wardrobe, digging through it until I found my favourite skinny jeans and a top. I threw my clothes on, tied my hair up into a messy ponytail and rushed downstairs to grab some breakfast. I had roughly around five minutes until Rebekah was here, and I knew that vampires were barely ever late. I was wolfing down my toast when a honking came from outside, nearly making me choke. I looked out the window to see Rebekah sitting in her shiny yellow convertible, which looked exceedingly out of place in this area. I waved out the window, signaling I was coming. I left my toast, grabbed my bag and headed out the door, wiping the crumbs off my face in the process.
“Hey Bekah!” I said, jumping into the passenger seat of the car.
“Hi.”
She started to drive off.
“So, today I was thinking we could actually drive about an hour south to pentagon mall. It’s the best one within a short distance from here.”
“Sounds great.”
We sat in comfortable silence for a while.
“So. You and Kol?”
I sighed, resting my chin on my hand.
“I don’t know.”
“He likes you. A lot. I’ve never seen him like this before. It’s like he is constantly of in dreamland.”
I laughed.
“Truthfully, I doubt it will last. With Kol’s history the odds are against it.”
“Fair enough. But seriously, normally he’d be with a different girl each night.” I grimaced at her words. “But since you came along, he’s barely looked at anyone else.”
“I doubt I could change his ways that much in a few months.”
“But you have.”
I looked out the window pondering her words. Could this really be true?
“Oh, and be warned. Klaus has his eye on you.”
I looked over at her.
“I thought he liked Caroline?”
“He does, but I think he has taken to you as well. While Caroline is completely unwilling to even be within the same town as my family, you choose to be friends with us and actually associate with us by free will.”
“I guess. But it’s never going to happen.”
“I hope not. But Klaus doesn’t like being said ‘no’ to.”
“Well.” I said. “He had better get used to it.”
We arrived at the mall around midday and got straight into shopping. Though I doubted Rebekah needed any more clothes, she bought much more than I, and I actually needed some clothes!
“What do you think?” Said Rebekah, coming out of the changing room in a long, dark green dress.
“I like it, though if you’re going to get it, I think it needs some accessories.”
She studied herself in the mirror.
“So it does.”
She went back into the changing room.
“Bethany!”
I turned.
“Caroline! What are you doing here?”
“I could ask the same to you.”
“She is here shopping with me.” Rebekah said, coming out of the changing rooms with the dress draped over her arm. Caroline glared at her.
“Caroline! What-“ A voice came from behind Caroline.
Oh no. The dreaded Elena. This would not turn out well, neither me nor Rebekah could stand Elena.
“Elena. Fancy seeing you here. I thought my brother drained you dry.”
“No. Last time I checked, I am still perfectly alive.”
“Unfortunately.” I muttered.
“Bethany!” Caroline exclaimed. I had never been so forward about my dislike for Elena. I had always tried to be nice to her due to the fact we shared friends.
“What Caroline? You know full well I don’t like Elena.”
“But-“
I put up my hand to silence her.
“Come on Bekah, lets go.”
I pushed past Caroline out the door, knocking Elena in the process.
“I never realized you didn’t like her either!”
“Never have.” I said walking with Rebekah to the other side of the mall. “We could start an ‘I hate Elena’ club.”
She laughed.
“I’m surprised. You’re quite close with Stefan, yes?”
“Yeah. Well, I used to be. I really haven’t talked much to him lately.”
Mental note. Text Stefan.
“So, do we want to go?”
“Sure. Back to Mystic Falls.”
