We arrived at the dance. Our car trip was filled with banter and wasn’t as awkward as I expected. When we arrived, we received many looks from guys and girls alike. I guess it's not everyday and original comes to a school dance. We spent a while mingling with the crowd until an upbeat song comes on.

“May I have this dance, fair lady?” Asked Stefan, who I was talking to.

I giggled

“Of course, kind sir.”

We headed out onto the dance floor and started dancing. I was surprised Stefan asked me; he’s never been into dancing. I looked around, and spotted Elena sending me daggers with her eyes. I laughed.

“What’s so funny?”

“Elena. If looks could kill I'd me dead twice over.”

Stefan looked worried.

“I better go talk to her.”

Before I could say a word, he walked off towards Elena, pushing his way through the crowd. I headed of the dance floor, having been deserted by my partner. I sat down, scanning the crowds for Kol.

“Hello there darling. Having fun?” Came a voice from behind me.

I jumped and turned to find a very happy Kol grinning at me.

“You actually like scaring me don’t you?”

“All part of the thrill darling. Now, would you like to dance with me?”

“Nope. Already been ditched by my partner once.”

“You really think I would do that?”

“Yes.”

Kol rolled his eyes. He then grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the dance floor, much to my complaint. He started dancing, and I joined in, as standing still in the middle of a dance floor never looked good. The music stopped, and a man stepped up to the microphone.

“Everyone!” He waited until there was silence. “We now came have song requests that you can dedicate. If you’d like to come and place your requests, they will be played.”

I smiled; they did this every year, and it generally ending in great embarrassment for certain people.

“Ok! The first dedication goes to ‘The impossible girl who likes her music.’ And the song is ‘Give me love’ by Ed Sheeran.”

I felt the heat rise to my cheeks, that was most certainly for me. The impossible girl, being a Doctor Who reference to Clara, and Music, that’s obvious. The music started and I felt Kol grab me by the waist, I automatically moved into position. I looked up at him, and he was humming along to the song while dancing. He noticed my gaze.

“Like what you see darling?”

I smiled and look away as he chuckled at my embarrassment.

“Do you like this song?”

“Yes, Ed Sheeran has always been one of my favourite artists.”

He seemed to sigh in relief.

“Why did you ask?”

He shrugged, not meeting my eyes. I was very suspicious, but I ignored the feeling and kept my mind on the dancing.  Of course, being me, I managed to trip. I felt myself falling before Kol caught me.

“You OK there love?” He asks.

“Fine.” I said, I could feel his breath on my cheek as I realize how close we are. I step back, ruining the moment. Kol looks disappointed, but he soon changes that look to a smirks.

“Seem a bit uncomfortable there, Beth.”

“Shut up.”

He does as I ask, but his smirk was just as annoying.

“I thought I told you to shut up?”

“I did.”

“But you’re thinking, it’s very annoying.”

He laughed and shook his head at me and I smiled along with him. I really was starting to genuinely like Kol Mikaelson, the infamous original.
