Firstly, if you are not in an inuits situation, then this shouldn't concern you making a transition to Veganism. You are living under completely different living situations then they are. However if you really want to hear what a vegans thoughts are on inuits eating animal products...
If they can't get access to plant based foods/ they don't have enough money and are operating under a trading system still, then it's justifiable for them to be eating animal products. Inuits under these conditions are eating for survival, they don't have other food options to consume "as far as possible and practical".
While there is grocery stores scattered further up north, the prices of fresh/frozen produce is far to high to purchase for the average Inuit; this is because of the cost to fly in the produce.
The animals killed for clothing is much of the same deal, alternatives tend to be more expensive then making your own. If the Inuit doesn't have enough money or is operating under the trading system, it's justified. However, more inuits are switching to canvas coats and fur coats, boots, etc. are being passed down the family rather than a bunch of new ones being made every generation.
