Real Fur is Better Than Fake Fur

Better for what exactly?
Real fur definitely isn't better for the animal getting skinned. An animal that today has most likely been raised in a fur farm, where wild animals are trapped and confined in small cages. While being stuck in the trap the animal may chew its own leg off to escape, freeze to death, die from starvation or dehydration. Being confined in cages causes distress for the animal and while trying to escape by biting the cage or running into the sides will develop injuries. If the animals fur is favoured they will breed the animal. And of course after all this the animal is killed by anal electrocution, neck breaking or being gassed as these techniques will protect the money maker- the fur. Sometimes these methods of killing don't work and the animal will be skinned alive.

Real fur definitely isn't better for the environment, as it interferes with the circle of life and natural selection overtime causing extinction of the species. Animals killed for fur are typically healthy animals as they will have the best pelts but it's the old, young, weak & sick animals that naturally would be killed in the wild by prey,natural disasters, disease which helps the healthy survive to pass on their genes via natural selection. When healthy animals are taken out of the equation less good genes will be passed onto the next generation, which means the animals evolution will hault. Yes real fur will decompose rather quickly compared to faux fur but if Eco-friendly fur was your goal you wouldn't be getting your fur jacked treated with chemicals which will populate the environment contributing to ocean dead zones and killing wildlife who come in contact with the chemicals. See faux fur and real fur don't need to be purchased at all, so if you don't want to populate the environment and effect evolution of species then don't buy real fur, and if you don't wanted to littler the earth with a faux fur jack for hundreds of years then don't buy faux fur. But keep in mind one faux fur jacket not going to the landfill isn't going to make as much of an impact as eliminating your everyday Waste you create, look into a zero Waste lifestyle if your really serious about eliminating your landfill waste.
