Chapter 35: SamW, Detective in Training

I'm at the top of the math list in my grade. No one could beat me. Or so I thought. Perry Casten. He was a new kid in our grade level. He was pretty smart too and he hangs around Nina and the Dreamers. I was mainly curious about his GPA and his grades. I wanted to know if he was smart or not.

"So, you want to know more about him?" James asked me as we sat at a table with drinking some coffee.

"Yeah, he's odd. He seems smarter than he looks, but I'm not sure" I replied to him.

"Well, he IS strange if he hangs around those Dreamers' James said seriously, "You know, you may be onto something"

"What do you mean?" I asked James curiously.

"It is strange that he just came to our school randomly. I know it is a boarding school, but he's a very wealthy German, who could have gone to any other top ranked school, but chose this one" James replied with hint of curiosity in his voice.

"I know! That's what I'm saying! He knows something! Or hiding something" I said.

We were in silence for a moment. There was something up with Perry and I was going to find out somehow. I left James and walked to the computer room. I decided to start my research on Perry as soon as I can.

"Uh there you are Sam. I was looking for you" Skye the fox walked in with some folders.

He was Tails's younger brother and my guardian. He was smart and good with machines, but he was nervous and somewhat of a wimp. However, he is powerful and able to stand up on his own and I do recall that he saved his own world on some occasions.

"Hello Skye, can I help you with something?" I asked of him.

"Well, some people need help with the computers in the other room. Some wires were bugged. I wasn't sure and I didn't want to hack into the government's bank on accident like my older brother did" Skye explained as he placed some folders down.

"Oh, alright" I replied as I got up from my seat and walked to the lab.

I saw Sid and Todd messing with the computers and some smoke coming out of one. I sighed and they both jumped back in fear. Sid looked at me nervously.

"Oh! Hey Sam! I didn't mess up the computers!" Sid said with some worry in his voice.

"It's fine. I can fix it" I replied and began to examine the wires.

I saw a few problems and then I began to fix the wires while Todd and Sid were watching random Youtube videos. I fixed the wires and then I looked up at the two trouble makers.

"Please, don't do this again" I said to them.

"Yeah, sure thing" Sid said not paying attention to me.

I sighed. It was just like them to do this to me. I walked back to the computer room and saw Skye looking at my computer. I didn't mind, but I was just wondering what his reaction would be.

"So, how come you want to know about Dreamer Perry?" Skye asked nervously.

"Don't call him Dreamer, just say Perry. As to why I am looking him up, it is because I want to know something about him" I answered him.

"Why? He's just a student who can control space at will" Skye said as he flew away from the computer.

"How smart is he?" I asked him as I sat in the chair and looked at Perry's profile.

"I assume he's smart, he is in this school after all" Skye answered as he held his tail.

I glanced at him and then I looked at the computer. I wasn't rich enough to talk a flight to Germany and find clues. I did have another idea. I left the computer room and walked to the Commons and found Nicole.
