Chapter 80: Abby, This Doesn't Count as Procrastination

                 One last test... Then it is time for me to prepare for college. Now, let's have no more surprises, no more unexpected adventures, no more delays, and no more drama. This is finals week. I only have one more final to prepare for. I want to do good on the last one.

"Are you doing ok, Abby?" Barkley asked tiredly as he sat on my desk.

"Yes. I'm ok. Just a little bit on edge" I answered him as I petted his head.

Ok, whoever decided that Barkley as my guardian knew what they were doing, because he is so cute and very powerful for a small guy. Though he acts a lot like an actual plant.

"Are you tired?" I asked him curiously.

"A little. The sun is a bit harsher on your world than mine" he said as he tried to fell asleep in my arms.

Aw! He's so cute! Ok, I should let him sleep on my bed. I carried him to my bed and let him sleep as I went back to my studies. Man, this Ap Statistic test is going to be very long and hard. I ended up studying until late into the night. Barkley was still here. He must've forgotten to wake up and go back to his world. I didn't mind of course. It is nice to have a friend over from time to time. I went to bed next to Barkley and enjoyed my sleep. When I woke up, I didn't see Barkley here!

"Barkley?!" I called out as I stood up.

He really wasn't here. My windows were locked and so was the door. I don't know how someone could've gotten into my room. Then again, he could've woken up and left for his world, but I feel like the little guy would've told me he was going back to his world. Something is not right.

"Well, I can study tomorrow" I said as I got dress.

Once I gathered my belongings, I left my room and locked it. I am going to find my little friend and bring him back. That is of course I find him. I took a breakfast bar from the commons and prepared to search for him.

"Barkley!" I called out.

Where could he have gone? I really hope no one took him away... I was running around the school searching for him when I tripped over something. I landed on the ground and looked around to see Groot?

"What?" I asked in disbelief as I saw the tiny tree man.

"I am Groot" he said simply as he sat down.

Ok... I don't understand him.

"Groot! Where did you wander off to?!" Rocket shouted as he ran towards us.

That's the raccoon from the movies too. What are they doing here? I thought they would be in space, I guess. I still can't believe what I am seeing.

"Who are you?" he asked as he let Groot climb onto his shoulder.

"I'm Abby. Why are you here?" I asked confused as I sat up.

Groot whispered something into his ear as Rocket nodded his head.

"Ok, so this guy picked up some kind of nature signal. We traced it all the way to pathetic planet number 2. We didn't see Jack around here, so we just let ourselves in" Rocket translated as he faced me.

Wait a nature signal? Do they mean Barkley?

"Did you receive a signal from another small tree like creature?" I asked them curiously.

"I am Groot!" he shouted excitedly.

"Yeah, how did you know?" Rocket asked impressed.

"I'm looking for him too. His name is Barkley" I answered.
