Chapter 47: Ned, Take a Shot

Instead of doing my homework and studying for upcoming test, I was playing basketball with Sam and Alex. It was our free period, and we were swamped with homework. However, instead of using this precious time to do my assignments, I decided to play basketball and worry about it at a later date. Besides, Nina was currently running around the school with the Dreamers trying to catch some weird looking Pokemon.

"Ned! What are you doing?!" Leon shouted as he stormed over to me.

"Oh! Someone is in trouble! Alex Bar shouted as Sam B pulled him away by the ear.

I rolled my eyes at them as they left while Leon stormed towards me.

"You have important school work to attend to" he said seriously.

I really didn't want to do it now. I just wanted to relax a bit. Leon heard his commlink go off and turned away from me.

"Yuffie, what's going on?" he asked me seriously.

He sounded worried about something. If Radiant Garden is in danger, why was he here? He should be there protecting his friend and the townpeople.

"On it. We will head over there shortly" Leon answered as he turned towards me, "Yuffie wants us to return to Radiant Garden. Something might be happening"

I groaned. Do I have to go? Wouldn't be safer for me to just wait here?

"Let's go and bring your homework! I will make sure you finish it!" Leon said as the keyhole opened for us.

We arrived at Merlin's house. Everyone seemed a bit panicked for some reason. Leon cleared his throat and silenced the room. I didn't realize how everyone remained quiet for him.

"What's going on Aerthia?" Leon asked seriously as he walked up to the computer.

There was something on the monitor, but I couldn't see it.

"More and more heartless appearing near the Baliey for some reason. Cloud and Tifa are there trying their best to contain the fight, but the heartless are still coming" Aerthia answered seriously.

Leon rubbed his chin as began to think of a possible reason for this. The computer monitor beeped for a moment. Cid clicked on a video icon, and Ienzo's face appeared.

"If you are wondering about the castle, don't. We actually have it under control here. Lea and Hanbei won't let anything bad happened to this place. Now, I am trying to locate the possible source of this mess we are in. I suggest all of you handle the heartless roaming the city" Ienzo stated.

"Hey! A reminder! You turned into a Nobody while we had to protect our home! Who gives you the right to boss us around?!" Yuffie asked annoyed.

She looked like she was going to punch someone. Ienzo was taken a back by her statement. Leon put a hand on her shoulder as he faced the monitor.

"Yuffie please relax. Ienzo, I know you and the other members of Radiant Garden are trying their best to figure out the issue here, but we will find a way to fix it as well. We will start looking as well" Leon stated simply.

I never noticed it until now, but Leon can handle anything in a situation. He took charge of this conversation and made everyone calm down and work together. Ienzo just nodded his head.

"Very well. Go ahead. Just be safe" he said as he logged off the computer.

Everyone then turned to Leon, awaiting his orders.

"Aerthia and Yuffie check the town square. I do not want anyone innocent hurt!" Leon ordered.

Yuffie high fived Aerthia as she cheered. The two girls ran out of the room with their weapons drawn.
