Eve POV
Lucian decided to have a party in my honor. The mansion was being decorated and I couldn't believe how lucky I was for the lycans to help. I honestly thought they would hate me after the whole blood burning fiasco.
I got dressed while looking outside, I smiled at the sun setting but that only meant that the party would start soon. I grabbed my dark purple gown, adding on my black lace gloves.
I left my hair down and started on my make up. After a good three hours, I was good to go. I could already hear the lycans downstairs as the music played. I walked down the steps, looking down as I saw Jared waiting for me at the end.
I blushed as I took his hand. He was wearing a black tuxedo, his hair slicked back into a ponytail. He looked great. I smiled, "Wow I never thought I'd live to see the day when you actually left it down."
"Special occasion for you so I decided to go all out," he informed as he held out his arm. I wrapped my arm around his as he escorted us to the dance.
We got to the party and immediately, the light was spotted on me as Lucian made a dramatic entrance.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he pointed over to me, "our guest of honor has arrived!" Everyone cheered and I smiled in thanks to them.
I sat down at a table as Jared grabbed us some drinks. He came to sit next to me, "To my only mate. May you have eternal happiness and peace."
Our glasses clinked together as we took a sip of our champagne. I have never had it, but I swear on my many lives to come...
I will NEVER drink it again.
I made a face as I placed the cup down. Jared laughed, "Forgot your a baby."
"I hate you sometimes," I laughed as I straightened out my dress. He winked at me and I looked around to see all the lycans dancing, having a grand time.
"You know its never been like this," I looked over at Jared, who motioned towards the dance. "We never had time to when we can just let loose and have fun. Its always training and trying to take down the vampires."
"Is that why you wanted to leave?" I asked, my full attention on my lycan mate.
"One of the many reasons. That's the main one. Second, I never had any freedom. Thirdly, I was tired of living under someone else's rules. It gets tiring."
"So that's why you have a motorcycle? To feel free with its speed?"
"Exactly," he smirked. After about two hours of chatting and eating, Jared stood up and coughed dramatically.
He bowed and extended his hand, "May I have this dance my lady?"
"Certainly," I said as I placed down my fancy champagne glass filled with Pepsi. I placed my hand in his, a tingly feeling spreading throughout us.
We walked to the dance floor, my arms going around his neck as his arms were draped around my waist. I looked up into his eyes, amazed at their color and beauty.
"I'll always remember this night," he declared after minutes of silence and gazing. "Even when I die in about 50 years, I'll always remember this."
I teared up, "I forgot lycans don't live forever." He smiled sadly, rubbing his thumb against my cheek. "I love you Eve."
"I love you," I said wholeheartedly. He leaned in and just as our lips were about to touch, a huge bang erupted from every door. Bullets started flying and I screamed as one hit Jared in the head.
I dropped to his side, clutching him to me. I cried hard as lycans around me were being killed. I looked down at Jared, who laid limp as silver nitrade spilled out of the wound.
