I woke early the next morning and jumped straight into the shower.  Getting out, I dried my long dark brown hair, letting it flow naturally and grabbed a pair of jeans and a red T shirt. Shuffling around to make sure I had my school stuff, I moved downstairs- bag and converse in either hand.  Moving around the kitchen to find an apple or granola bar, I find a note from Charlie. He left for work early and should be home a little after me.

Making my way out the door, I get in the truck after struggling to unlock it with the key. The battery in the key fob not working. It drives a little rough but it works, better than having nothing. Pulling into a random spot close to the building, I grab my bag and get out to walk to the front office- avoiding eye contact with other students as I walk.

The front office is small and warm. A desk filled with papers and a computer, a lady sitting behind said desk, working away. She's a tiny, red head, hair put up messily and glasses rest low on her nose. "Hi," I start. Her name plate reads, 'Ms.Cope'.

"Hello dear, you must be Isabella."

"Bella works." I smile awkwardly and adjust my hand on my backpack strap.

"Yes, well, let me find your schedule." She shuffles things on her desk before looking at me again. "There you go and here's a map if you need it. This slip needs to be initialed by all of your teachers and brought to me after school before you leave. Questions?"

As she spoke I looked over my schedule.

First; English

Second; Art

Third; U.S History

4th Lunch

Fifth; Biology

Sixth; Gym

"Yes, uhm, is there anyway I could switch Bio? I've already taken that class. Oh and Gym? I have my P.E credits already." I look up hopeful.

"Gym is required all four years here and for bio," she types on her keyboard. "Nope. Everything else is filled, I'm sorry." Well at least I don't have math.

"Thanks anyway." I smile and grab the papers as I turn to leave. This school doesn't seem to big nor complex. With any luck this school will be blissfully boring.

As I assumed, finding my first class was easy. English is easy so that class went in a blur. Getting a few looks and questions- nothing to bad. Most people get put off by my silence and stop trying for a conversation quickly when it comes down to it (which is what happened with those sitting near me). My teacher just gave me a text book and a seat in the back. Before I knew it, I was walking to my second block.

"Hello," my teacher greeted me as I walked in. "Bella Swan?"

"Yes ma'am." I hand her the slip of paper to sign.

"Take a seat in the empty table- second row on the left. Your partner isn't here today, but she sits closest to the window." My teacher explained. She's a small woman, wearing a long flowing black and floral skirt and a plain shirt covered with a smock. The room was colorful since the room was painted by previous students. Different art supplies laid about everywhere- even on our tables that were covered in different colors of paint.

Art is another favorite class.

Just like the last class, this went quickly but more entertaining as I had to show the teacher what I could do. It wasn't much but I did a simple sketch of a woman. I'm no artist but my drawings are pretty good.

After that the day blurred. Few talked to me but I did make a friend in History, Angela. She offered me a seat at lunch and we talked a little. Her friends were pushy with attempting to get to know me, which didn't make me comfortable so I stayed quiet. Mike and Jessica were annoying.

"So Arizona, I'm surprised we haven't had a chance to talk yet. Do you run from all your classes because we have first and third together?" Mike tried being cute as he sat on my right.

Shaking my head, I shrug. "Not really."

He looked displeased with the simplicity of my answer. As he tried again and his annoying 'girlfriend' Jessica started in too, I zoned out and looked around the lunch room. Just like any other school, the cafeteria is just kinda gross. Full of teenagers eating- most sloppy- and filled with weird smells. Tables crowded and loud.

My gaze got stuck on one table, though. There were only two sitting but three empty seats around them. The two were boy and girl and incredibly beautiful, although I don't think they are together because of the space between them. The girl was small, pixie like, with short black hair. She seemed to be happy as her face held a wide smile and bright eyes that just so happened to be..gold? The boy was huge. Cropped black hair and very muscular, he too seemed to be happy even as intimidating as he looked. They both held such strange colored eyes and were oddly pale. They looked like siblings.

Sensing my staring, the girl turned her head slightly and looked me in the eyes, smile widening even more as she gave me a fast and excited wave- grabbing her friend's attention who smiled at me too. Awkwardly I gave them a slight wave back.

"Bella?" Angela tapped my elbow and followed my gaze. "They seem to like you." She chuckled surprised.

"Omg! How'd you do that?" Jessica's shrill voice rang.

"What?" I raise a brow.

"You got their attention. No one does that, they're like statues." Mike chimed in.

"What're you talking about?" I ask. What did I do?

"The Cullen's," Jessica said as if it was so easy to see. "They're a family of seven. Five children- three aren't here right now. Those two are Alice and Emmett, they're actual siblings- adopted by Dr. and Mrs. Cullen. Then there's the gorgeous blonde twins, Jasper and Rosalie, also adopted. And lastly Edward." She said his name with a swoon, making me hold back a chuckle. I look back at their table and the two seem to be joking.

"Don't get your hopes up. They're all beautiful but together- mostly. Alice and Jasper and Rosalie and Emmett. Edward is single but shows zero interest in anyone here- don't even bother with him." She spoke trying to seem casual but it was easy to see she; A, had a thing for Edward and wanted me to back off and B, The fact that they live together and are together is a 'bad' thing.  I just shrug to her in response. It is a little strange if they're all adopted.

Across the table a girl snorts and rolls her eyes. She leans into a boy next to her and 'whispers', "what a loser."

I raise my brow to her and she gives me a smirk. "Lauren!" Jessica says annoyingly shocked. "What is wrong with you?" at this I roll my eyes. I can deal with some petty girl easily, but my anger can get the better of me at times. As Lauren plays innocent, the others just stay silent.

So I sigh loudly, nodding and push away from the table. I don't see what makes me a loser. Being new and not knowing who strangers are? Either way, everyone's silence makes me think, the rest are probably not people I want to waste my time with.

As I leave the lunch room I hear a deep voice shout after me and when I turn, I'm surprised at who I see.
