Alice led me all over the house which was just as grand as I excepted. When she finished with the tour, she led me to the kitchen. Esme was standing by the counter messing with something on a tray.

"Hello, Esme." Alice said sweetly.

"Hello, dears, I made cookies. Bella, feel free to take them home." she turned to face us with chocolate chip cookies set prettily on a tray.

"You didn't have to." I smile awkwardly. "Thank you." I quickly mumble.

"Not a problem. Now, has Alice been good? She can be rather demanding." Esme half whispered jokingly. We all chuckled.

"Yes, she's been kind to me." I smile at them.  Alice and I take a seat at the breakfast bar as Esme leans over towards us on the other side as we talk. "You should stay for dinner." Alice squeaked. At the mention of dinner, my eyes found the clock on the stove. 7:08.

My eyes widen and I scramble up. "Oh, shoot. I can't and I didn't realize it got so late. I have to go and make dinner for Charlie and I. "

"Awe. Well let's hang out Friday after school?" Alice suggests hopefully. Esme looks at Alice amused.

"Uhm, sure." Flashing a quick smile, they realize my need to leave. Alice tugs my arm toward the door but Esme stops us and gives me the cookies and a hug.

"It was good to meet. Thank you for having me."

"Of course- see you Friday, sweetie." Esme is so sweet.  As Alice and I make it to the front door, I see her siblings in the other room.  Rosalie seemed upset, Emmett looked anxious and Jasper held a look of indifference as they talked.

"Guys! Bella is leaving." Alice practically sang. They all turned quickly.

Emmett walked over, picking me up in a hug, he swung us around. I awkwardly pat him on the back, stiff and uncomfortable. Jasper and Rosalie stayed in place but Jasper smiled and waved as Rosalie just stared me down- luckily not angrily.

"Bye Bellsy Bear."

"Uh, bye," I say and it sounds just as confused as I feel.

"Let's go." Alice tugged me away.

The ride was short and I thanked Alice as I got out when we arrived.

What a weird family. At first I scolded myself for getting in the car with such weird strangers but now that the whole experience is over, I actually enjoyed myself. We talked like old friends and as strange as it was, I liked it a lot. I'm looking forward to Friday.  Maybe I can sit with them at lunch. Er- never mind. I don't wanna impose, although I can't sit with the people I sat with today.

However, I didn't really appreciate how bold and assertive they were. It wasn't normal. And even though I enjoyed myself enough to loose track of time, doesn't mean I didn't think it was kinda creepy the way they went about everything.

It's like the whole thing was a test or trial.

I dunno.

Sighing, I run a hand through my hair as I make spaghetti for Charlie and I.

Alice gave me a quick run down on her family and I found myself thinking it over again.

First, there was her. Alice and Emmett were actually related and he was a year older than her, adopted after their parents died and they came into the family last. She loves fashion and wants to be in the industry one day. Alice then went on to Jasper, the love of her life. She talked so fondly of him that I couldn't help but be both happy for her and slightly envious. I hope I have that one day.
